AdChoices? Seriously?

I am disappointed in you.

You are using AdChoices. Adchoices is a Virus. You have a banner by AdChoices posted above the trenches comic. I was so surprised to see this I actually had to log into your site again from a second device just to be certain. Now, I work in IT, and I routinely scan my devices for viruses so I was fairly certain that I was clean but just to be extra certain I logged into your site again from a second device to confirm what I was seeing. I used my kindle to confirm to myself that yes, that was in fact a banner by AdChoices. If you don't believe me, please read up about AdChoices yourself. Here are a few highlights I found from a quick google search of the subject.

I trust that you will resolve this little issue, and quickly. But I must admit, I was both surprised and disappointed to find this kind of nonsense on your site. I really thought you were better than this. Shame on you.

If you have a serious concern about the site, there is a separate forum for bug reports and user issues. I suggest you bring up your concern there. I do not suggest you do so in the same imperious manner.

While, yes, (it appears) there is a malware suite named adchoices.

It's also the name of a legitimate ad network thingy. Google uses it.

What you're seeing are just regular ads.

The AdChoices virus is adware. A machine infected with it will display popups and ads from unsurprisingly, AdChoices. AdChoices is also classified as spyware since it records information about what you click on. While it can be difficult to be certain about these things, all indications are that the AdChoices virus, was written by AdChoices. After all what would be the point of displaying ads by your competitor?

Yes. AdChoices is a widely used advertiser. Yes it is even used by Google. That doesn't make it right.
