[Bioware Games] Stop Dragon My Heart Around

Dragon Age Inquisition! Bioware's most recent release, so probably the game more people are talking about these days. Jaws of Hakkon, the most recent DLC for DAI, has been launched for PC and Xbox One. It will be released for PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3 as well, but the release date for these platforms has not been confirmed.

Mass Effect 4! All we've got right now are rumors and speculation, but the hints dropped so far indicate that the game will be taking place in an entirely different galaxy than the first 3 games. We're also looking at the return of the Mako, and possibly of exploration. We haven't had any clear indication of the time period, but one thing's for sure-- no more Shepard. Source: Eurogamer.net

The story will focus on a fresh protagonist who won't be another version of Commander Shepard, BioWare has said, but while there will be no direct continuation of the Commander's story, nods to past adventures will be included.

We also have some sketchier hints at things to come, such as a player survey indicating the possible size of the upcoming game. Source: Gamingbolt.com

“About the planets: I was told they have a certain toolchain or some program (forgive me, tech isn’t my strong suit) that’s crafted for them in Frostbite 3 that’s allowing them to generate terrain/create planets through a random generator. They go in afterwards and tweak and detail each planet to make them unique and their own thing. With that, the target was around 100 planets so I’m unsure where that stands now.”

Take that with a grain of salt of course, as nothing has been officially confirmed.

So, talk about these games! And I guess other Bioware games too, I'm not gonna stop you.

At what point is the DLC worth getting? I only just picked my side (Mages) and haven't done the mission afterwards yet. Level 10 Inquisitor.

Not until you're level 18 or 20, I'd say. It's a pretty tough area, and can easily be saved for post-game. There are some pretty sweet weapons and schematics there, though.

@Crimson King I hate you for prompting me to look up that word

@SirEtchwarts That's an interesting perspective with the Qun. The problem with me I guess is I played a mage, so the Qun affects me in a direct way quite a bit. And those monstrous slavers can eat all of the shit, cultural hipsterism or no.

I mean they're definitely not perfect

But my biggest issue before was that there was this sort of impenetrable screen of "Nah man you're an outsider you wouldn't get it" and now that that's gone I can dig this alien society a lot more

HA, Blackwall commented on my amorous intents

He's all "Got an eye on Cassandra, eh?

    ........nice"

I love it when party members comment on stuff like that

I propose that the thread title be changed to "Stop Dragon My Heart Around"

Reavers are straight up bananas, I solo'd the final battle on mine. Crazy damage and some great healing options, you get them geared right and you can't lose.

Started a new playthrough. Still an elf, but I might try romancing Sera this time.

Or I'll probably just get angry at her and go back to Solas again.

Once you actually know how to build your archer they can do goddamn crazy damage!

    Cross-post from the GT thread.
That was too easy. It's never that easy.

Why are all my quests auto-completing? Including ones I've...never...taken... Oh.

Oh fuck me. Varric stop dying like a pansy constantly, you're wasting all the health potions.

Fuck me. Can one of you goddamn melee keep this random mook from chasing me long enough so I can man the trebuchet? Varric you just stay down for a bit.

    OH FUCK ME.

So this is the Elder One huh? ...I could take him. Stop whining in the dialogue, me.

...And the dragon. Come on, bring it, let's do this thing.

    20 minutes of cutscenes laterrrrrr

I see everyone saying how Solas is racist and all that but honestly it's justified in the DA world and his primary focus is saving that world, so he's fine with me.

Inject this soundtrack into my veins. This is some Two Steps From Hell level of music.

    Castle! I like castles.

A secret friend Varric knows, someone who has crossed paths with Cory, and someone whom Cassandra really does not like. ...It's either Morrigan or Flemeth isn't it.

That was nutty. Okay, rest of the game has now opened up so let's...go back to Hinterlands and finish all those quests! Then Storm Coast. I already did Dead Mire and fuck that place.

Because I want her to pop up in the singleplayer!

A completely new map, 3 new characters, and dragons? Yeah, I'm down. Hopefully they'll do a balance round and fiddle with drops at the same time.

  • RadiusRadius Registered User regular
Have they added anything in the way of singleplayer content since release?

You can play as Skywatcher? sweet

I might have to give multiplayer another shot, then. I only tried it once or twice, but backed off because I kinda sucked. After running through the game nearly three times, I'm probably good enough to not drag the team down now

My experience was to play bubble bot keeper, until I got the hang of the place. No one complains about a person who constantly is shielding the party from damage.

Oh my shit they actually added that bard class
I may have to jump back in to try that out

Single-player? It's just a matter of eventually memorizing the paths from running all over the place. And be sure to check your map occasionally, easy to make a wrong turn. Kind of a small area once you get used to it.

Typically, start from the top, get over the navigation icon you want, then just start jumping down until you get to where you need to be. This is not foolproof, but it eliminates the easier ones very quickly.

But the Forbidden Oasis is complete bullshit from top to bottom, and is almost entirely optional, so don't sweat it too much.

FYI, they released a patch for dragon age today, at least on PC. Nothing very exciting in the notes, just lots of small fixes. It's a fairly large download though, so might want to grab it today if you're planning on doing the new multiplayer content tomorrow.

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
