Monitor not working after windows 8.1 update

Hi, I have a dell 17 inch square lcd monitor, windows 7 was working fine on it but when I updated the windows 8 to 8.1 via store, the downloading was finished but when the computer was rebooted and after windows logo, my monitor says "video mode not supported" even I tried to reconnect the monitor but that doesn't work ! Help !
