A question about Avatars.

AlabasterSlim informed me yesterday that his old domain name that hosted the Avatars and Steam Sigs will be expiring soon. Unfortunately, there's no way to change it to his new one from the Avatar settings pane, just to upload something from a drive. Is there any particular reason why it's like that still after all this time, and possibly something that can be changed? It would be nice to get the old functionality back (although that was one or two forum upgrades ago, it obviously still works). One would think you'd get much more offensive or larger images off of what we can link in the Signature pane since that does allow linking off of websites.
