STASH 2.0
The STASH system has received an overhaul in this patch, with an updated user interface that gives you more customization and convenience:
STASH tabs are now displayed 3 columns wide rather than 2, so more STASH tabs are visible with less scrolling.
Any STASH tab in the list can be clicked and dragged to a new position to reorganize the list however you see fit.
General STASH tabs can be edited with a custom name, icon, and background color so you can easily customize your STASH to suit your sorting preferences.
Hero STASH tabs can be also edited with a custom name, and the icon can be changed to the icon of any costume available for that hero.
Above each STASH tab’s displayed inventory is a drop down menu with multiple auto-sorting options to quickly sort that tab’s contents.
New STASH tabs can be purchased from within the STASH interface, allowing you to choose between Custom or Hero tabs and edit them to your preference right as they are unlocked.
A new general STASH tab will now be available for purchase from Adam Warlock for 600 Eternity Splinters. This is a one-time purchase per account.
Additionally with the launch of STASH 2.0, any Crafting STASH tabs you currently own will be converted into customizable general STASH tabs for free!
NEW HERO: WAR MACHINE
James Rhodes - A.K.A. War Machine - joins the hero roster of Marvel Heroes 2015!
War Machine is a Physical damage hero with a plethora of melee & range options allowing you to dictate the rules of engagement. Like Iron Man, War Machine utilizes an advanced suit of armor based on StarkTech technology - but while they may look similar on the outside, War Machine's suit is custom-designed to live up to the name!
Heat Mechanic
"Safety first" isn't something you'll find in the War Machine user manual. War Machine's weaponry is designed to push the limits of what the suit is capable of, and many of the weapons and functions of the suit will generate excess Heat as they are used. You'll see a meter above the experience bar that shows how much Heat has built up in the suit's systems - once this meter fills, the suit enters an Overheat state that shuts down a number of War Machine's offensive powers until all Heat has been expelled from the suit's systems.
While in the Overheat state, War Machine's suit automatically diverts the heat directly into his close-quarters weaponry, enhancing them to deal increased damage. You can also instead choose to immediately convert all of the excess heat into energy for the powerful Spit Fire cannon, immediately ending the Overheat state and restoring normal functionality to all sub-systems.
Shock & Awe
In War Machine's Shock tree, you'll find all the implements of high-tech close-quarters combat, such as the retractable Laser Blade Cutter when enemies get too close for comfort. Bring the Heat allows you to utilize a powerful short-range flamethrower built into the suit's arm - this power rapidly generates Heat compared to other powers which can quickly lead to Overheat, but up close this is a bigger problem for your enemies. Shock Trooper is a defense function which can be set to trigger while in Overheat state, discharging excess heat by converting it into powerful electric shocks against anyone foolish enough to come into contact with you.
The Awe tree houses War Machine's tools of ranged destruction, including his automated shoulder cannon. Fire When Ready when toggled on activates the shoulder cannon's automated targeting system, which can be further customized to your specifications. Repulsor technology in the suit's gauntlets are not utilized for ranged combat, instead favoring powerful Machine Guns which can be leveraged to cut down individual targets or used to lay down a powerful spread of suppressing fire.
A few powers in this tree when fired will automatically load your Machine Gun powers with Enhanced Ammo reserves for a short time - the aforementioned Spit Fire for example will load Thermite Rounds into your Machine Gun powers, causing them to set targets ablaze. You can even customize your automated shoulder cannon to also access these Enhanced Ammo reserves.
War Gear
War Machine's third tree contains most of the suit's internal sub-systems, as well as a couple universal tools that are useful when waging war on any front. StarkTech Upgrade is the core platform the suit is built on - much like Iron Man's own suit - which controls the system's Suit Power resource.
Built for War forgoes the energy shield in favor of superior direct reinforcement of the suit's frame, but still retains the life-support and Suit Power restoring functions of prior StarkTech models. This software can be further modified through Specializations to more significantly alter the suit's functions to your needs. For example, the Stealth Fighter Specialization will more efficiently utilize Heat generated by suit functions to increase the damage of any power that generates Heat, as well as increasing the bonus damage of melee powers affected by the suit's Overheat state. Additionally it will generate a personal stealth field any time Built for War is manually activated. This is only one of the software upgrade choices available to Built for War; with this kind of budget, we get to throw in all the extras.
When the situation calls for maximum firepower, there's only one logical response - fire every damn weapon built into this thing. Army of One is War Machine's signature power, allowing you to override all suit controls and fire all the suit's weapon systems simultaneously for a brief period. If anything's left standing after this option... you'd better call for backup.
This is just a preview of what's available in War Machine's arsenal - check him out yourself in-game today to see everything in action!
52 REVIEW: CABLE
The man out of time has returned from the future with a brand new set of powers to help fight the battles of the present!
Past Made Present
Many of Cable’s currently existing powers have received visual and mechanical updates to make them more effective - and look cooler doing it. Here’s just a sample:
Plasma Submachine Guns - This power replaces the Plasma Barrage power as a channeled cone area-of-effect, and now utilizes a pair of high-tech SMGs to lay waste to groups of enemies in proper 90’s comic style.
Psychic Haze - This power now combines the old Psychic Trap and Psychic Haze powers, instantly dealing damage, applying a damage-over-time effect, briefly immobilizes enemies and leaves a lingering Slow effect. Additionally the visual effects for this power have been updated to look even cooler while you ruin bad guys’ days.
Foresight Bomb - Cable’s previous Ultimate power Bodyslider Bomb is now his Signature power. This power is now much faster to perform, still taunts nearby enemies before unleashing a massive explosion, and additionally can grant significant Spirit restoration when you’re not using an active Discipline. When a Discipline is active, this power instead converts the split Energy and Mental damage of the explosion into the primary damage type for the chosen Discipline.
Disciplines
While Cable can still be played in a similar fashion to the way he works now with multiple damage-over-time effects and consistent sustained damage, there are also three new build options that drastically change how you both build and play! These are achieved via Disciplines - three new Specialization options unlocked alongside Veteran Warrior:
Ordnance Discipline - For those that want to focus on cutting edge, advanced tech weaponry to get the job done, This Discipline will convert the new Viper Beam power into the devastating Hyper Viper Beam, upgrade Concussive Blast into a high-powered cooldown, and unlock the exclusive Particle Accelerator power. This is the go-to Discipline if giant laser beams and constant explosions are your idea of a good time.
Askani Discipline - Completely new to Cable, the Askani’son tree unlocks a number of melee powers based around the powerful Psimitar weapon with wide-reaching, sweeping attacks that can strike at enemies beyond the reach of normal melee strikes. When Askani Discipline is active, Cable gains enhanced damage mitigation and melee attacks, converts his dodge roll into a lightning-fast Psimitar lunge, and unlocks the Psimitar Slam power. This is the Discipline if you want to focus your tactics on being up close and personal with your enemies.
Mental Discipline - The final Discipline option focuses on enhancing Cable’s immense telekinetic power, allowing him to turn his new Psionic Illusion decoy power into an offensive option, lay down an additional Psychokinetic Barrier, and access the Telekinetic Overload power which throws entire groups of enemies in the air only to abruptly reintroduce them into the ground. That’s telekinesis, Deadpool!
All of these Disciplines additionally convert the primary single target spenders within their trees into Basic powers, reducing their Spirit costs to zero, but not affecting their damage in exchange. The Disciplines however will also lock out certain elements of powers outside of their respective trees, so choose wisely.
Should you decide that none of these options sound right for you, when a Discipline is not active, Veteran Warrior will instead grant significant damage bonuses to both Energy and Mental powers, while also granting you access to Foresight Bomb’s improved Spirit restoration effects.
Last But Not Least
Cable has received a completely new Ultimate power called Greymalkin Bombardment, which signals the space station Greymalkin to call down a massive orbital strike over an area, which is additionally bombarded with psychic bombs. While Greymalkin Bombardment is active, you can activate Veteran Warrior at no Spirit cost, which will quickly redirect Greymalkin’s targeting to move the bombardment to the area you designate. It will also use its own targeting systems to attempt to track nearby targets if not given new orders with Veteran Warrior.
In addition to this, Cable’s unique items have received a tuning pass from
@Amthua and the items team, including two new uniques to hunt down that compliment Cable’s new powers!
There’s more waiting to discover in-game, so check out Cable’s 52 review in-game today!
NEW TEAM-UP: CARNAGE
Carnage joins the Team-Up roster for Marvel Heroes 2015!
Cletus Kasady’s run-in with an alien symbiote during a prison breakout changed his life forever, merging with the symbiote to become the agent of chaos now known as Carnage. Capable of forming the surface of the symbiote into all manner of deadly weapons to satisfy his appetite for destruction, one would be wise to exercise caution, though he is currently willing to work for the side of good… at least for now.
IMPROVED ITEM TOOLTIPS
An additional feature going out with this update is a few tweaks to the information your item tooltips display.
When viewing the tooltip for an item in a slot you already have an item equipped, you will see indicators next to each affix that show whether the item being previewed grants an increase or decrease of that affix's effects compared to the item you already have equipped. This should make gauging whether an item is an upgrade or not easier at a glance when comparing item tooltips.
Also, when holding down the Alt key while viewing a tooltip to check the roll range for an item, the revealed roll range (which appears within brackets next to each affix) will now be color-coded to quickly identify how high of a roll your item has compared to the maximum roll possible. The colors are currently coded as follows:
Green: Within the top 33% of rolls for that item
Yellow: Within the 34-66% range of rolls for that item
Red: Within the 67-100% (minimum) range of rolls for that item
THE TUNING CORNER
Dr. Doom
Doom is well above the highest level of the target tuning range of the game and is consistently number one and well above #2 in live server damage output. This week includes a targeted change to get him closer to the correct tuning range (while still remaining solidly at the top of that tuning range, since he is a Doctor).
Dr. Doom's three Specializations no longer grant bonus damage to his Tech/Sorcery tree or Summoned Allies. They will also now intentionally not increase Tech/Sorcery base damage when using Technical Tyrant or Mystical Master.
Scarlet Witch
Scarlet Witch’s survivability is well above the top of the tuning range of the game and has been for awhile. Previously, before the big changes to Scarlet Witch this year, we let her have this crutch since she was weak in other areas. Now that she is powerful in every way, her Ravenous Binding is being brought back closer to the rest of the game.
There is only one change for Scarlet Witch:
Ravenous Binding healing reduced to 620 health per second at rank 50. (Note this number is obviously still extremely high, but represents a 50% reduction from previous amounts)
Gambit
Ragin’ Cajun - The Critical Rating bonus is now an always-on passive bonus. Defense rating has been migrated from Savate Expert to Ragin’ Cajun.
Bo Strike - The Spirit on Hit is now increased by 100% (doubled).
Street Sweep - DoT duration increased to 8s, animation time reduced for more responsiveness. Gains the Vulnerability affix from Royal Flush (Vulnerability duration flattened at 8 seconds for all ranks)
Bo Vault - Gains Movement keyword (no damage penalty for this).
Bo Vault - Damage increased.
Bo Vault - Spirit cost reduced to 15.
Bo Vault - Animation time of landing reduced for improved responsiveness.
All In - Now deals damage 4 times a second.
All In - Area slightly increased. Gains 1% damage per attack speed. Damage increased.
Royal Flush - Vulnerability affix moved to Street Sweep
Dead Man's Hand - Now has a stacking buff that deals a large explosion every 5th activation.
House of Cards - Now hurls a deck of cards at target location to create the hotspot, which deals damage for 4 seconds before exploding. Slow reduced to 40%. Cooldown reduced to 3 seconds. Base damage increased.
House of Cards - Projectile speed increased for responsiveness.
Grand Slam and Ace of Spades have been mechanically improved and buffed to act as "mini-signatures" and have a new damage buff interaction with Bo Beatdown:
Bo Beatdown - now deals 40% more damage while Grand Slam or Ace of Spades is on cooldown.
Grand Slam - Now converted from charge-up power to a high-damage power with an 8s Cooldown shared with Ace Of Spades). This power always critically hits.
Ace Of Spades - Increased damage and gains 8 second shared cooldown with Grand Slam. This power always critically hits.
Gambit's Signature Power has been significantly buffed:
52-Card Pickup - Cooldown reduced to 40 seconds.
52-Card Pickup - Channel time improved to 4 seconds.
52-Card Pickup - Damage Reduction increased to 80%.
52-Card Pickup - Now grants an 8 second buff to Melee powers after channeling ends to make the power more rewarding for Melee and Melee-Hybrid builds.
52-Card Pickup - Rotation Speed Increased by 50% to be more responsive.
Good Times Roll - Spirit cost reduced to 8 per activation.
In addition to the above tuning changes, Gambit’s Unique items have been reviewed & updated by
@Amthua and the items team! We will be continuing to monitor server data and player feedback for Gambit and will make additional tuning changes as needed.
Luke Cage and She-Hulk
Finishers will now only consume Combo Points if they hit an enemy.
Emma Frost
Hero Synergy has been updated:
Level 25: +3% to Damage Over Time powers
Level 50: +1 Durability
Watch List
The Watch List consists of heroes that are either well above the top of the tuning range of the game or too close to the bottom of the tuning range of the game.
When it comes time to buff or nerf heroes, buffs are much easier and more aggressive. Nerfs are done very carefully these days, and may be done over several smaller rounds rather than one big round. Buffs, on the other hand, may be done in larger rounds (as you can see from Gambit), since the risk of overshooting is usually less dramatic and tear-jerking than overnerfing, which is very traumatic for everyone.
The metrics of the following heroes are being monitored carefully to ensure they are not well outside and above the correct tuning range of the game. Currently no specific tuning changes are planned, but data is being carefully monitored and targeted, careful changes could occur at some point.
Doom (targeted TTK changes this week)
Scarlet Witch (Healing was well outside range. Corrected this week)
Jean Grey
Loki (Summoner only)
Silver Surfer (EMF only)
Vision (Tri-Beam only)
The metrics of the following heroes are being watched closely because they may be under the target tuning range and will very likely buffed before Red Raids and Cosmic Ultron are launched.
Note that powers changes, visuals and such are outside of the scope of the Tuning Corner, so this refers to tuning changes only. As you can see from Gambit changes, many smaller quality-of-life changes can sometimes also be included.
Gambit (many targeted buffs this week)
Black Panther (work in progress for next week)
Winter Soldier (work in progress for next week)
Squirrel Girl (announced for September)
Daredevil
Star-Lord
Taskmaster
Nightcrawler
Luke Cage
Invisible Woman
Magneto
OTHER CHANGES & BUG FIXES
Increased camera tension and movement snappiness on player teleport travel powers to the standard that Doom's was at, including Cable, Deadpool, Rogue, Surfer, Witch, Psylocke, Loki, Strange, Nightcrawler, and Vision.
Changed Team-Up Token exchange to grant an Ultimate Upgrade token rather than a random Unique.
The stacking damage buff from Captain America’s Shield Expertise now applies when you hit with a Serum Power (Previously triggered when you used a Serum Power)
Scarlet Witch's Bouncing Hex now correctly deals half damage with additional bounces.
Added X-23 to "Fall of the Mutants" achievement objectives.
Doctor Strange’s “Preparation for the Dark Dimension” achievement: Defeating Mindless Titan anywhere in the game should properly count towards the objective.
Improved client performance when the character sheet is open.
KNOWN ISSUES
The following known issues will be addressed in an upcoming patch:
War Machine’s Bring the Heat power can cause War Machine to lose all available Heat if Spit Fire is used while Bring the Heat is channeling, and Bring the Heat is not released before reaching the next Overheat state.
War Machine’s Fire When Ready auto-turret currently will not target other players in PvP.
War Machine’s Fire When Ready auto-turret model will aim in the wrong direction visually while Suppressing Fire is being channeled while wearing the Age of Ultron costume (note this is only a visual issue and does not interfere with the power’s attacks).
War Machine’s Total War power is not locking onto targets when the cursor is directly over an enemy.
Cable’s Kinetic Repulsion currently does not trigger procs from items or Omega nodes.
If a Hero-specific STASH tab is the first tab on the list (top left), some items such as “Any Hero” Uniques or StarkTech cubes will be placed into the Hero-specific tab rather than the currently viewed tab when right-clicked from the inventory.
Some affixes, such as Health / Spirit on Hit or Spirit Cost Reduction, do not display accurate results when using the new item comparison tooltip feature.
Limbo invasion bosses are still present in Midtown Patrol zones.
(all same name in game) to get guild invite.
Hero costs for splinters are 200/400/600 (tier depends on how much work they took to create or popularity). Splinters drop 1 every 6 to 10 minutes with chances for double or 10 pack drops.
No, you can only play as any of the 30+ heroes currently in the game.
No, gear is stats only. There are some visual effects that can be added to costumes such as glowing orbs or flaming Ghost Rider style heads, but otherwise you cannot change the base look of a costume. There are no hats.
The game plays like a typical ARPG (Diablo, Torchlight, Path of Exile, etc.). Third-person, isometric view. You click mouse icon to where you want to move and use a combination of mouse and keyboard buttons to trigger attacks and abilities. There is currently no controller support.
In story mode, your hero progresses through "chapters" completing various quests while finding gear and leveling up. Currently story content ends around level 25 and level cap is 60. Once story mode is complete you use endgame content to level, this includes Legendary Quests (repeatable quests randomly pulled from a list), Terminals (Red, Green level boss fight instances), Holo-Sim (1-2 player challenge mode of increasingly difficult waves), X-Defense (5 player "horde" style mode protecting NPCs at X-Men Mansion with increasingly difficult waves).

Degen - Plays every evening for 8+ hours (yes he's nuts). Interacts with chat and gladly answers questions and shows how things work. Level 60 and endgame play (unless it's a new hero release).
Bwana - Plays nearly every day for a few hours. Interacts with chat and is a more relaxed pace and gladly answers questions. One of the Twitch admins.
David and Divo Brevik - CEO of Gazillion and his wife stream their play irregularly, but usually at least 2-3 evenings per week (friday/saturday they stream raids). David answers many questions and often will stop and write emails to various departments to get issues fixed that are brought up in chat.

Honestly not sure, never looked into it.
You can use your sig on the test, just no ulting! I thought you could vuln the dummy? I know unaware doesn't work though.

Because I am silly and apparently like bumping dead threads.
Eh, I just didn't take it since anything I do on him normally, there are already people there providing vulnerability. So it was a point I could put somewhere else and a power to not worry about.
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Depending on how many boosts you want to burn through, I used to save them until I hit 50 and it slowed down a bit.
Meanwhile I'm grumpiness at Loki over here, I dropped Loki rune 5 and 6 during Omega but he doesn't want to give me the recipe. The fight is just long enough with no challenge to really annoying me.
You can just ask in the trade channel for the recipe, I don't remember exactly what it cost, maybe 4 blessings? It's not too much, and it will leave you much more sane than farming for it.
I'll do a few of each, but it'd be nicer to have full PA groups, though we usually PUG one or two ppl. It'll probably be quite a few pugs after the first run of each.
No requirements on greens.
Reds have like 3 level 66, blessings and a level 4 legendary.

Like, I'm all obsessed that I'm undergeared and there are people in there who make me radically reconsider that. We still managed the first encounter and just barely failed on Slagg.
I need 3 more of my 69 upgrades, and about 1.5k omegas before I will be good to go for Axis sadly
Let's say 3PM PST for the first red and 8PM pst for the second.
FFBE: 898,311,440

Feels good.
My 60, still such a babby.
So is running X-Defense like a decent thing? I imagine it's not great for farming xp, because it takes so long, but is it alright for getting gear? Because doesn't the quality of gear get better the longer it goes on?
Or is it a dumb thing for dumbs who dumb?
"We believe in the people and their 'wisdom' as if there was some special secret entrance to knowledge that barred to anyone who had ever learned anything." - Friedrich Nietzsche
It's not a good bet gear wise. It just takes too long for not great results.
Really the big goal should basically get to the point you can clear cosmic terms or survive in Cosmic patrol. Both of those have fairly good drops that are the reason I say x-defense sucks.
Ultron isn't bad if you can find a good group but because loot is so heavily tied to performance people want like all 69s and shit when really if you've got decent 60's and blessings/legendary going you should be okay.
Then I'm all over it.
Steam: MightyPotatoKing
Steam: MightyPotatoKing
Also, scumbag Pym created Ultron.
Not that I'm really interested in the axis raid. It's over tuned with barely a decent reward for all the hassle. I've been watching max geared out groups fail repeatedly and get nothing in the rewards.
Like, a medallion? Woo?
I dunno. I might just wait on axis till it's been nerfed into not being awful.
But yeah I've got a little while before I'm ready for that anyway
I would like to get some more Muspelheim runs in at some point
getting to 60 really is gonna be a huge grind though, isn't it?
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
I have been asking there and watching it, though I currently don't have any odin marks for blessings. I do now have 2 spare Loki runes, a Surtur, or maybe a GoK to liquidize if needed. If anyone sees one for sale at a reasonable place, could you act on it?
Or should I just wait for Midtown Madness.
