Houston Flooded, TX D&D Members Please Keep Safe

So, Mother Nature has gone all Noah on Houston:
Flash-flood watches and warnings were issued across seven states early Tuesday as an unprecedented downpour of torrential rain triggered "extremely dangerous and potentially life-threatening" conditions in Houston.

More than 30 million Americans were told to brace for dangerous thunderstorms — including flooding, hail and possible tornadoes — as meteorologists warned the weather that has centered on Texas and Oklahoma since Saturday could expand to other areas.

Michael Walter, a spokesman for Houston Emergency Management, confirmed three deaths Tuesday afternoon, raising the death toll to 11. At least 12 people were still missing, and countless more were evacuated amid the deluge that has inundated Texas and Oklahoma with record-breaking floods since Saturday.

In Houston, more than 80,000 people were without power and the flood waters closed roads including Interstate 10 and Interstate 45. Houston was among 24 counties where Texas Gov. Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster on Monday.

Since we have a number of members here who live in the Lone Star State, this thread is to let them know that we're hoping that they and their loved ones are all okay, and to give them a place to let us know how they're doing.

Seriously, all of you caught in that mess, please keep safe.

I live in Deer Park, on the southeast side of Houston and in the 6-8" range. We lost power temporarily late last night, but all roads in this area are driveable today. I-10 and I-45 are not shut down, although a handful of exits are closed for planned construction efforts. They may have been temporarily closed, but that would have been after 10:30 pm.

The worst places are at some of the exits off of the highways, because the spillways and such flood in a light rain and are just drowned currently. The drainage here is sufficient enough that the flooding is almost all in those places that are known for flooding anyway.

I hope everyone on the northwest side of Houston has it as well as those of us closer to the shores.

I'm in Seabrook/Webster. We've escaped the last two rounds, but one of my friends lost everything when his apartments (Green Oaks) flooded and his car was totaled during the last round of storms.

Crazy, crazy shit. I moved here right before Allison, and this is the worst I've seen since then. I don't really count Ike, since that was a totally different situation.

Austin flooded quite a lot as well, but my house is on a hill and things are OK. Tornadoes passed west of town as well, mostly hitting nothing.

Dumpsters floating down the street in downtown Austin though... madness.

From Calgary, AB and we had to deal with a (thankfully) smaller flood a few years back. Stay safe, warm and dry friends.

After seeing all the flooding on the news, i am glad i don't live in Arlington any more.
