I like this game, but the pacing really feels obnoxious. Respawning takes several seconds after waiting for the timer, there's this weird pause once you hit the button and then a long dumb zooming cutscene. 1v1 duels feel like half the match is just waiting for cutscenes. No one wants to ready up after a match, so you have to tab through a menu or two to leave and requeue.
I would like a rejoin queue option or something instead of waiting to see if people will ready up between matches. I almost always end up dropping out and researching from the menu.
Looks like open beta starts on the 9th! I hope its not too hard to get in on console.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

Most people I dueled re-queued against me, had a lot of times where I fought the same person 5+ games in a row.
The game could really use dueling lobbies like Blade Symphony had. It'd support like, 16 people on the server at any given time and you could queue up for any of the 3 arena's with a winner stays on rule.
I play some Heroes of the Storm with Fighting Cowboy, and he's talked to me about picking it up on PS4, since that's where the majority of his Dark Souls fanbase plays. Anybody else picking this up for the PS4? If so, you should definitely add me; my gamertag is "milk ducks", same as it is here on the forums. I'm legit excited about this game -- more excited than I've been about any game for a long time, to be honest.
@Hiryu02 if I get an invite code I'll send one your way
Im on Xbox sadly, but I really appreciate the thought!

Duel mode is the mode I will probably play the most. Dominion seems like it would be fun for awhile but suffer from the same team-based format problems that other games do (potential encounters with the mouth breathing community). 2v2 Brawls seems, interesting? Finding a good partner on your friends list and watching each other's backs could lead to some tense gameplay. Plus a lot of 1v2 clutch moment clips will no doubt come from the mode.

Dominion can be pretty neat if organized. Lots of folks play assassins for hit and run mobility gameplay, but I like to fort up and just throw people out of points to constantly be earning those points. I averaged 400 points per match just hanging out defending a point against all comers. Plenty of kills too.

The great thing is the game has built in options for turning off basically every possible interaction (Killfeed, chat, etc). The worst they can do is spam emote at you. And even then, it is only like five seconds at a time.
What's the word on singleplayer content for this game?
There is a singleplayer campaign, some folks speculate it may allow for coop campaign like in the duo system. Unknown how long the campaign is supposed to last.

For the Conker, (i read this on reddit and thought it was an adorable epithet for the Conqueror), how do you think they will hold up over time, given that they do not posses a feint?

I haven't had a problem with it in beta. He's the defense guy, so it behooves you to be the one to parry or bash them on a feint. If you can get them out of stamina (easy to do) you just infinite chain them or push them into enviro hazards.

When you say infinite chain, do you mean a combo that literally cannot be interrupted once the first hit connects?

Yup, a Conqueror can defend for days, you have to rely on punishing mistakes and only using heavy hits when you know they will connect. The infinite combo is amazing, some people have a lot of trouble breaking out of it.
Also, Conker gets a ton of HP regeneration abilities, he's seriously the best tank in the game.
Whoa he can regen health? Is that a feat or something? Can anyone else regen health?

Yeah, you have MOBA-esque abilities that you gain throughout a Dominion match. You choose outside of the match, but I think you can select from four tiers of abilities all of which have 3 abilities? I didn't unlock enough to pay too much attention to it.

Warlord has out of combat regen perks, Nobushi has a active heal and a aoe heal, Warden heals by killing mooks
These are all feats so they are only applicable jn Dominion
Ah, I see. That's too bad. I predict the great majority of my play will be in 1v1 and 2v2, where gear and feats won't apply. Though that is news to me that HP heal perks existed at all. Thank you.

No, by infinite it means he has a chain that you can continue as long as he has stamina and he switches directions after each swing. It can still be blocked, parried, or dodged out of.
Oh yea, its so bullshit as a conker. Minion kill healing (passive), blocks give healing (passive), there was another good passive at 3, and then the original Indomitable at 4, thats an active where you do damage thru blocks.
Literally sit in B and rake in the renown and points with zone attacks.
And then its counterintuitive to fight me with more than 2 guys because it gets easier to block the non target.

The conker is unmovable in dominion
Stack + revenge build items and you could probably become nearly unkillable.

I turned off decapitations because a lot of them are unconvincing. Knocking someone's head off with a fucking flail is certainly unconvincing, but hilarious when you're not expecting it.

To be fair I mean, it's not like the game is trying to model armor, or damage, or that stuff realistically at all, so I figure why not have fun with the silly decapitations. Like, you aren't getting off anyone's head with any of the weapons in this game in a combat situation, realistically.

@Hiryu02 I enjoyed trying this out, but quickly realized that I am truly awful at fighting games, so For Honor is definitely Not For Me.

They weren't in the Closed Beta either, and neither were the Valkyrie or the Shugoki. Have they said why?

Also, there's alien technology in the game, this guy escaped my execution with it:
