@ alerts not giving a notification?

I've noticed that the last few times people have @'d me, I did not receive a notification on the forum or an email alert as I usually do.
The two posts were these:
In the "Let's Play FFXII" Thread
and
a steak! 's post in the "Ask Tube" thread.
They didn't misspell my name, and if you click the @ link it goes to my profile. The @ also doesn't show up in the 'notifications' section of my profile. Looks like the last notification that was logged for me was on June 4th by Tube.
Not sure if it's happening to anyone else, but thought I'd point it out!

Yep, that's how it works.
