Also, Witcher 2 characters joke about Tolkein! I laughed at that.

Not just 4th-wall breaking jokes for the player either. They joke about it to each other! Tolkein exists in the world of The Witcher, and he wrote The Lord of the Rings there too.

Witcher 2 has been okay. I thought combat was a little annoying to get into. I got murdered in the tutorial arena, and I hear that happens to just about everyone.

Reeeeally wish they had some fast travel.

The elf dude Iorveth is a Tolkein nerd, it's the best.

Combat has been challenging. I even bailed to Easy for a fight partway through chapter 1.

I just started chapter 2 and right now Iorveth and I are not friends.

the first person who says emulator gets a firaja to the face

The mobile remake is fine. The people that hate it really hate that they made the sprites look more super deformed and not pixelated.

Or you can borrow my DS lite and FF6.

    They are HIDEOUS!

    haha, i'm such a dork.

Trying to make a diceless RPG system.

It's gonna require way too much math.

just use all binary events and outcomes

call it the monte carlo rpg system and have the DM give the players the resolution to the session before they start playing
You kid, but there are fun RPG systems where you come up with the resolution of the conflict through a pre-determined method, and then the players have to come up with how they got to that point from the start point of the conflict. It's an interesting way to look at roleplaying, and quite fun.

Most RPGs nowadays go with a model where the characters are assumed to never die... or rather, the players are never "left out" during a session because of a setback to the character. The loss of player agency is considered bad, much like player elimination is considered bad design in board games.

You know your heroes are going to win. It's the process from going there, and back again, that is intriguing, not the end result.

Witcher 3 is great but I have no idea what they're referring to about anyone or anything

Like this busty lady is all mad at me for banging another lady and I'm all like well I lost my memories give me a break I had amnesia (????)

And this other guy is like hey what did you do at the heathsmead did you rally The Lord captains or betray the lady of dundersnook

    It's Terra, btw.

I have killed before over this and will no doubt kill again. Tread lightly.

Terra is really more of a plot device than a character anyway. Her story arc is completely resolved halfway through the game. The ending is better if you don't have her in your party.

    Haha.

I believe these questions are basically to fill in the results of Witcher 2, if you're getting them early on in the game. I didn't have them, presumably because I continued from my Witcher 2 save (which in turn continued from my original save, and I believe has basically resulted in the near eradication the Scoiatael :( ).

As opposed to Celes, which is one of the three REQUIRED characters to finish the game with. The classic CES run* is Celes, Edgar, and Setzer.

    * This is beating the second half of FF VI using only 3 characters, which are required by the story to start the end game. This is important, because the endgame requires you to split up into three TEAMs of characters to beat the game.

Witcher saves choices from previous games?

I'm playing 360 Witcher 2, so no previous save, and I don't think I've gotten any questions about events in Witcher 1. Geralt pre-W2 is a total mystery me.

So I applied for a job with a big IT consulting firm

They had a series of online tests you had to complete which were a complete pain in the arse to access, requiring a specific version of the Oracle Java plugin and a windows browser

Now I have been invited for a phone interview, and have to book a slot when they can call me on this online system

Which doesn't work, and gives no apparent error message or other feedback to indicate why

Either this is an worrying start given their industry or else it is a particularly fiendish test that I am failing

It only carries over like 5-6 from W2 to W3. I can't remember how many were carried over from W1 to 2, but they were mostly insignificant I believe (possibly up until you get to Act III, where the politics come back into it).
