It's that wonderful time of year when we are all potential Omeganaughts.
I would go so far in the competition, at least that's what I tell myself in my daydreams.
I hope they take their time before the calls go out so we can all savor the moment before reality rears its ugly head.
Nice thing I noticed on the survey this year is they specifically ask if you can attend all four days, but also tell you that if you were only able to get a pass for 1 to 3 of the days that they will provide you with a pass for the missing days. This should mean more people are eligible, even if you couldn't grab a pass for all four days.
Hola, y'all, super newbie to the board here. This will be my second PAX ever (although my first was so terrible I'm not sure I even want to acknowledge its existence) but my first time being the one buying the tickets and thereby potentially being an Omeganaut! Fingers crossed!!

Nope. I have a badge, but did not get a survey.
For PAX South this year, a lot of people got them but I'm not sure if it was everyone. Maybe a survey for that is kept on file explaining why I didn't get a second. Who knows.
I checked off that I was interested in competing when I bought the tickets. That said, I will be one of the ones kicked out during the first round along with @Perestroika

Never say never. When I was competing in the East Omegathon earlier this year, I thought I wouldn't make it past the second round. I made it all the way to the final round. Although, I lost in an intense and close round, I get to come back and try again next year.

Just to clear up any confusion, PAX doesn't send you the days you're missing; they have you pick up an Omeganaut badge at the show. It's a light-blue variant much like the Special Guest badge but with an "OMG" instead of "SPG."
Anyway, yeah, with the removal of 4-day badges it appears that anyone can be entered for the drawing now.

Different years have been handled differently. If you are chosen, this is a great question to ask the contact folks. Some years the Omeganaut badge just signifies you as an omeganaut. I would guess though that this year will continue the trend of the past couple paxes where the Omeganaut badge replaces your existing badges, which you can then give away to friends/family or whatever. Again, just speculation, make sure to find out from an official source when the time comes.
When I was chosen for the Omegathon at East this year, I was given an Omeganaut badge and that's all I needed form the whole weekend. I didn't need the day badges I bought.
I would be stoked to be a part of it. Seems like the funnest thing to do and I'd love to hear crowds getting pumped over pac-man or a crane machine :biggrin:
I believe they said calls start soon after the omegaform closes, which was at noon today? So anytime between now and next week I would guess.
I've had my phone next to me since early June with the volume on (usually on vibrate) in hopes of getting a call. I wasn't sure they would send a form out again this year. Hoping I get a call but also looking forward to not having to focus on my phone everyday
Also, caller ID is blocked. so answer those mystery calls!
I missed the call for South because I had went to scan something at work and left my phone. Here's to hoping I get a call in a few hours for Prime. ^_^
