So after a visit to my advisor, I have realized that I have exactly one year left of college. On one hand, this is great news, since for a while I thought I would never graduate (It took me 2 years to go to college after hs) and its something I'm looking foward to. On the other hand, I'm worried about life after college.
I'm a political science major, with a minor in legal reasoning. For a long time I been wanting to go to Law School after college. Problem is, I have no idea how to afford it, I can barely afford college as it is now. And then in some of the brochures for some law schools I glance at, they all mention how the school doesn't want you to work, or work at the max a small number of hours a week. My GPA is a decent 3.3, which should go up this semester, but I don't think it qualifies me for scholarships.
Also, this year and last, I started taking some classes on third world politics, and I realized that I really enjoyed the classes, and that I excel at them. So now I'm looking at something in the foreign service as a possibility.
Basically, I'm hopping to hear from other prospective/current law students, letting me know how hard it is to actually afford school, as well as get in. Also any political science majors would be nice, since I have no idea what to actually do with a political science degree outside law school, just in case my original plans fall through. Thanks in advance.
