Robert is super excited about his ultra detailed financial breakdown. Please appreciate it for the sake of his sanity.

That breakdown was the shit, and totally the #1 reason I pledged.

    (Reason #0 was pin...sorry Robert)

Is the Pinny Arcade pin a limited run, say 300? You are invoking memories of the DLC Kickstarter pin in the description, so I'm assuming it will be as limited.

*reads about pin tier....then reads about hoodie tier above it* BACKED!.

  • Robert KhooRobert Khoo Registered User, ClubPA staff
The run for the pin will be however many are pledged for in the campaign. (plus a really small buffer just in case)

My assumption is that it is limited to 1570, since that's the amount of backers that can occur at that tier or higher.

    Pins for trade!

@Robert Khoo what is the "weight" of the hoodie? Is it something a Seattle person would wear in the fall in downtown to stay warm, or wear while hiking up Mount Olympus to stay warm? (I'm in Minnesota, so anything above 60F is shorts and t-shirt weather.)

That decision has not been made yet, but I personally hope they are like the Co-Op and Thanks Obama Hoodie. A lighter style, good for Seattle fall with all kinds of great features. I'll see if we can get more information on that before it ends.

*update* sounds like they are going to try some new hoodie styles before these items get shipped and might use one of those assuming they are received well. So yea, unknown, sorry.

The financial breakdown is actually incredibly helpful and I wish that more kickstarters did it (loved Erica Moen's post breakdown of hers as well). Just out of curiosity, what made you decide to go ahead with Automata as opposed to some of your other lovely series? I saw your twitter post about Sand earlier today and it made me greedy for more comic series pins. :P

Backed! And orchestrating a campaign of brutal psychological warfare to "encourage" all my friends, family members, colleagues and acquaintances to kick in to their fullest financial capacity.

Or maybe I'll just tweet about it. That's maybe a better plan.

Realizing lately that I don't really trust or respect basically any of the moderators here. So, good luck with life, friends! Hit me up on Twitter @DesertLeviathan

    The KS says
They'll "shoot" (movie term) before the end of the year, and those that back via the digital download reward will get to view it in the Summer of 2016, 3 months ahead of the worldwide release.

What are the plans for the webisodes outside of the Kickstarter? Will they be Club PA? Cost $25 for the 5 episodes?

    So...When this gets funded....

    Will there be auditions?

I know that Van's passion for Automata was a big driving factor for it coming to life. It's highly requested by the community as well.

Given that while I watched the ~6 minute video, 34 people pledged, and pledges are averaging over $100, what do you intend to do with your ~26 million dollars? (thanks math)

I remember hearing about that in the Podcast. Automata is the beeeest. I think having too many awesome series is an excellent problem to have. I can't wait to see what the pin looks like O_O

The financials were very well done, and swayed me.

I've just spent a considerable chunk of $$$ backing this. I'll see you in June 2016 for the viewing.

Now I want CORGI SCROOGE MCDUCK to be a stretch goal (though I admit there is some chance that would be mean to animals, maybe?).

Regardless, backed and excited. Onwards to Kickstarter victory!

Hmm! I just got asked a fair question by one of my friends. If you choose the "Attend the Premier" tier, do you get a +1 or is it per person?

  • IncindiumIncindium Registered User regular
Well I wanted the Blu-ray version of Automata but then its only $15 more for a movie poster so I couldn't resist that... so $65 tier get!

Lots of us out there who are pinsane in the membrane -- and must have them all. I am seriously considering kicking twice at the pin level (so I had one to trade), but I have no idea what I would do with two of all the other rewards (poster, bluray, etc.).

    Digital Lanyard, I love trades - https://www.pinnypals.com/pals/dmosinee
http://pinmash.info - Two pins enter, one pins leaves... then the other pin leaves with a lower Elo rating
