Tired of my old wall paper, so I made a new one with a picture i took at this anime convention called Sakura Con.

    I pretty much adore Domokun. You should make him more noticable. It took me a while to figure out where he was in the picture.

    No, I like it how the photo is just plopped in there. It gives it alot of character, and makes it stand out from the rest of the wallpaper.

    The building I have a problem with, however. That should be drawn.

    Hey thanks for your crits!

    Ice- I agree, dunno what else to put. need to sit on that a bit.

    Corgi- One of my good friends pointed that out pretty early when I was making out, haha a lot larger improvement from where it came from.

    Grifter- I originally was just gonna pop the picture on my desktop, but the development of the wall paper came from feeling like sprucing up the pic.

    andd Recoil- here is photo bucket pic not much bigger, but better. Don't really know any good image hosting sites. After putting it up as the wall paper that struck me too. Pretty dull building I'll play with those effects.

    Grifter, I have to say, have you come to the Light Side with me and subscribed to the theory of Thread Natural selection or have you just not figured out how to lock threads with the new software? :D

    I was hoping for more of a harsh reaction on this one. Rather disappointed to be honest.

    Its suposed to be mixed art, everything is photos except the background mountains. I saw a higher res and its very neat, I think this sizing may make it a bit harder to follow. The clouds are definately neat in a larger size, since again there are a real image.

    The lines are to accent features just as a stylistic choice.

    The idea was to play around with the actual image in photo shop to make it a bit more interesting and highly stylized.

    i like the look of it a lot.
    i have always enjoyed heavy lines though, so it's all about people's choice of style.
    was this just done in photoshop?

    i do agree domokun can't be seen that well..maybe put a highlight color around him?

    I am still thinking of how to highlight domokun more. The building is from the picture. The only thing i really purely drew were the mountains and the clouds. otherwise i just heavily PSd the other components and played with contrast and what not.

    You mean like make Domo glow Naked?

    I don't think you need to highlight him more or add any effects to him. I think he just needs to be more apparent, and more "important", in terms of how he's displayed. He kind of seems like an after-thought, really small and in the corner, nothing really helping him to "pop" or make him seem like the "main event".

    I'd suggest making him bigger, if nothing else.

    Ya, I like the content of the photo, but the wallpaper looks pretty bad... What hurts my eyes the most is the textures, and though you were probebly going for that "cut & paste" textured look, it just doesn't work IMO.

    To be honest, all he needs to do here is change the color of the outline surrounding Domokun. Not only would it be extremely easy to apply, but it would bring more attention to the character.

    Just make it a different shade of brown or something.
