Are laptops a good idea for small amounts of application design with VB.net? What am I looking for with a budget of ~$700?

Processing power is a must. Also, for those who are using the latest VB.net, what am I aiming for with a laptop for processing power to compile small programs and code?

    I was looking at this laptop, but I don't know if the CPU is powerful enough.

    VB.net is not taxing. At my work some unlucky developers are stuck with Pentium 4s.

    Anything with 8GB of RAM should do you fine.

    Wii U sucks, but my NNID is da66en. Steam is route66. 3DS is 2938-8099-8160.
