I stole this from IGN instead of making a fancy OP since I'm late for class.
IGN wrote:
April 18, 2007 - Captain America has a nigh-indestructible shield; Thor wields the mighty hammer Mjolnir; and Hulk, well, he smashes things. All three members of the merry Marvel family have found a new home with SEGA. Having already snatched the rights to publish an Iron Man game in 2008, SEGA has added Cap, Thor and the Incredible Hulk to its future game library.

As previously announced, Iron Man arrives first from SEGA in May of next year, in conjunction with the new feature film. The terms of the extended deal signed by SEGA and Marvel adds a Hulk title based on the June 2008 film. The new Hulk adventure will hit around the time of the movie's release. Thor and Captain America games, also linked to future films, will come later.

"Video games are an ideal medium to showcase the appeal and excitement of our Super Hero franchises," said David Maisel, Chairman, Marvel Studios. "SEGA is one of the industry's most innovative game developers and we are thrilled to partner with them to bring The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, and Thor to the video gaming arena. These franchises represent three of Marvel's most popular characters and lend themselves to captivating game play. We have already seen SEGA's passion for the Marvel Universe through the early development of the Iron Man video game, and we look forward to working closely with them over the next few years to maximize the potential of these franchises in the interactive entertainment space."

"We are excited to broaden our partnership with Marvel, a recognized leader and innovator in the entertainment industry," said Simon Jeffery, President and COO, SEGA of America. "As SEGA continues to create more games that are built from the ground up to appeal to Western audiences it makes perfect sense to work with a powerhouse company like Marvel that has established and beloved characters like The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, and Thor. These are icons that people are already familiar with and love, so our goal is to give gamers the ability to play out their fantasies by actually becoming these Super Heroes. Fans can now not only watch them in movies and read about them in comic books, but also literally control their actions through the videogames we are creating. We look forward to bringing these icons to life like never before and putting the power in the hands of the fans."

With Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor under its control, SEGA almost has enough Marvel pieces to create the Avengers. For now, comic-book fans will have to settle for four solo affairs.

Though no developers were announced for the three upcoming titles, the trio will be made available on all next-gen consoles, handhelds and on PC.

Fuck sticks, they can barely make a good Sonic game anymore. This means no Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction sequel. Oh lordy, I'm going to be sick...I needs some next-gen IH:UD.

Depends on what kind of deal was signed. The article alludes to them all being tied to movies so, maybe, they only have rights to do games based off of the movies. *crosses fingers*

I bet Sega could do something pretty cool with the license.

Eventually everyone will have had the ability to make Marvel games and we can see who did the best job in retrospect. My game probably won't compete very well with Marvel VS Capcom though.

Wait isn't Sega owned or partnered with Sammy? Sammy owns Arc System works that made the awesome Fist of the nortstar game and Guilty Gear.

    Could this mean

    Marvel Vs Guilty Gear!

I haven't trusted Sega to make a decent video game in a long while. : /

    I dunno, here's to hoping.

But really you haven't missed much in the way of Sonic until very recently. Sonic 2 is still my personal favorite.

Er, wouldn't it be more like "4 of the Avengers Vs. Guilty Gear"? They didn't get the entire Marvel license.
