Hrm. $200 won't get you much in the tablet world, but fortunately it sounds like you don't need anything high-performance. I'd look at the Asus ZenPad S 8.0. It's currently $229 at Best Buy but its sold for $199 in the past and you may be able to find a deal if you shop around. It's got a nice screen (the most important thing for your purposes from the sound of it), has decent specs, an up-to-date version of Android with minimal intrusive custom software layered on top of it, and 32GB of storage.
Edit: For clarification, because Asus annoyingly has multiple models called the ZenPad S 8.0 with only the full model number to distinguish them. The one I suggest is this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834232609&cm_re=asus_zenpad-_-34-232-609-_-Product ($199 on Newegg right now.) There is also a model priced at $299 that's significantly more powerful but it's probably overkill for your needs anyway.
