Copying Chrome profile to a new computer
Bought a new computer today and reinstalled Windows 7 on a new hard drive. Everything from the old computer is still on the original drive, which is a secondary drive in the new computer for reasons. I reinstalled Chrome and thought it would be as easy as copying the data from the old computer (users\me\appdata\local\google\chrome\*), but Chrome is being a finicky little jerk and not retaining my settings. My bookmarks work fine, but my history, saved passwords and extensions are not working.
What the hell am I doing wrong?
Note: I don't want to use Sync if possible because then I'd have to hook up my old drive and finagle with stuff.

I don't think chrome supports copying profiles between machines, it is all cloud based though a google account.
it's entirely possible that the old Chrome profile might be based on different formats used by an older version of Chrome, compared to the new Chrome install. is there any particular reason you want to keep saved passwords? can you just redownload the extensions?
