    I was really hoping that the next ME would have us Spectring it up across the galaxy, what with the governments being in a weakened state and unable to enforce law and order, the spectre's role becomes more important than ever

    no galaxy threatening main plot, just bad guys doing bad things because they can and you get to stop them in a non linear way

    Andromeda sort of might be doing that?

    But they dumped it hundreds of years in the future in another galaxy for no fucking reason

    Basically it is super well made and comfy.

    Yeah its fucked up, hence why there would be strife all over the place

    everyone would want their resources to repair their homeworlds leaving their colonies vulnerable to both secession and lawlessness

    the galaxy isn't gone though, the updated ending is like "MANY MILLIONS DIED BUT WE REBUILT EVERYTHING"

    set it 30 years after ME3, right when they get the relays back online or whatever

    you can have it in the same galaxy without making it the Shepard and Wrex and Liara show

    it's so far removed from the time and place in the setting that it's pointless to even call it mass effect

    they're going to have to shoe horn in tie ins to the old franchise, and I bet you Liara and Wrex will probably show up anyway

    also, I have published an academic paper in philosophy in which the two main characters in the recurring thought experiment are named Ash and Misty

    so whatever else happens to me

    I can go to my grave knowing I've accomplished something special

    It's implausible that they wouldn't be so popular that there would be a Liara ad selling future Coke on a billboard on every planet you visited

    And Wrex would definitely become a huge wrestler so every time the player turned on the TV they'd see him trash talking his opponent in the Krogan's WWE championship!
