    A friend of mine likes the original ending to the ME trilogy and doesn't understand why everybody hates it. I tried to explain it to him, but he doesn't get it at all.

    Prior incidents with Shepard seem to have sharpened her reflexes a bit. If she was punched both times when the Commander met her previously, she declares "not this time you military thug!" The Commander can then headbutt al-Jilani and admonish her for yet another attempt at a slandering report as she slumps against the wall. She lies unconscious on the floor for the remainder of Shepard's current visit to the Citadel.

    You're probably operating under a different understanding of 'skepticism;' on strong forms, for instance, being a skeptic would be inconsistent with being confident that we're meat puppets (as opposed to fragments of a butterfly's dream, or whatever).

    The real trick is in seeing how a meat puppet could be the sort of thing that also acted according to norms, better and worse, of the sort that live in Plato's heaven :hydra:
