How long a drive from Miami to Tampa?

Like the title says, how long a drive, time wise, from Miami to Tampa? I guess if you really want to get specific, Miami Airport to the the port in Tampa. Thanks,

    You want to do this almost entirely on I-75 once you get out of the hellhole that is the Miami area. Miami across Alligator Alley to Naples is like 1:45, and from there to Tampa is about the same. I-75 all the way, baby.

    Edit: I just checked the Google maps and they're about right, although you may want to do I-95 north to 75 instead of whatever road that was they gave you. Anyway, considering online map travel times are always a little conservative, it seems about right. I go right about 80 on 75 pretty much all the time (speed limit is 70) and I'd expect to do this in about 3:45.

    When are you planning on arriving in Tampa, if it's during rush hour that should effect your route rather dramatically.
