Connecting a composite cable to a VGA LCD Monitor

I've got a cable that let's me hook up my 360 to my LCD monitor, which I love. High def gaming for almost no cost at all. I was looking at this website that showed you how to build a connector so you could hook up your PS2 to your monitor. Here's the link. http://skygate.bravehost.com/PS2_VGA_cable.html I know this won't improve the graphics on my PS2 but I just like the idea of being able to play it on my LCD monitor. (22 inch widescreen). I'm wondering if this seems like a good idea or not? I don't wanna go through all that trouble to end up with a piece of junk. Does anyone know of a product that will do this that's reasonably priced that I can just buy instead? Like an adapter or converter or something. Or has anyone built this and is willing to build another one? ^_^ I'll pay of course. Or if nothing else, can anyone point me towards a website that might be able to help me out with some more? I know this is probably a weird place to post this but I couldn't think of anywhere else. @_@ Thanks in advance!

$60 USD, $13 shipping. Works with PS2, Gamecube, and XBOX. Comes with component cables for the xbox.

We really don't bump threads here.

But the simplest solution is (usually) the most expensive with electronics.

Just get that transcoder. Making your own ghetto cables or some workaround setup can't assure you compatibility. A friend of mine uses that thing and it works great.

Transcoding is serious business. The VDigi one is a good buy. If you care about your image quality you are going to have to spend a good amount of money. There are cheaper solutions out there, but you get what you pay for. Lemme see if I can drudge up a link to something as an example.

EDIT: Hmm. There used to be one on Lik-Sang, but I forgot that they kinda went out of business a while ago.

    FYI, composite cables:

    Component cables:

The Vdigi VD-Z3 is a great solution as a transcoder for anything hi-res, but not only is it not the easiest/best solution for composite (low-res) output, it actually won't work at all.

It ONLY does component video, and ONLY does 480p, 720p, and 1080i/p.

But I think that's what you wanted anyways, you were just using the wrong word, since composite doesn't even support hi-def.

That being said, the VD-Z3 is awesome. I own one. Hell, I pretty much started the following for them on this board. Great device, mostly because it works with everything -- Xbox, Gamecube, Xbox360, Wii, Ps3... even DVD players, since it doesn't use the console's proprietary interface, but is rather a component --> vga transcoder.

Yeah, you gotta watch the site for a few weeks/months, just bookmark it and check in every once in a while. It's some crazy hong kong company, and they only make some every once in a while for some reason, despite the demand being high.

I don't pretend to understand their logic in manufacturing it in such sporadic spurts, I just speak from personal experience that the product is awesome.

I got me one of these bad boys:

    http://www.x2vga.com/

I use it to play Progressive Scan PS2 games on my flat screen CRT. Unfortunately, the number of PS2 games that do 480p is quite small. For the ones that don't support progressive scan I use a Gamebridge.
