The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Looks like Durkula's Plan B is basically to skedaddle. Most likely to the Dwarven Lands, and thus start fulfilling the prophecy he never knew about. Also it robs Roy of the ability to pop in on Xykon instantly, so effectively Roy has no reason not to pursue him, as he's on the way and you bet Roy feels responsible for that.
I feel sad that Kat is so worried for Annie. I'm hoping this takes place at the same time as the last couple of chapters and maybe Annie can talk about what she's learned and realised.
Awesome, Marie put Wanda's runaway devotion to fate in place. If nothing else, allowing Lilith to attack Charlie would at worst have cost a bunch of money, but Wanda's intervention not only cost even more money, it put Maggie in danger. Charlie's read on Parson is fascinatingly inaccurate, though the size of his treasury is kinda staggering. I hope Lilith has picked the right target for her strike now.
Ooh, Linton looks like he hit a weak spot. Between Colm's misguided acts and Blossom spilling the beans, it feels like a lot of shoes are dropping right now. To keep up the momentum Si would have to interrupt Darren and Shauna. Though that might not make sense. Dropping in outside a crowded social event invites unexpected interference.
Allison's got an interesting idea with this super support group, and I laud her for it, but it feels like it does nothing to address her personal problems. Though it might let her address her feeling that the world is too big.
Hitball's over! The plot may advance!
A very unsentimental form of euthanasia in Copenhagen. SSSS does a good job reminding you of the tragedy of this disease.
I wonder what's going on with Harris. Is the intent to send him on a vision quest so he can accept the orphic side of himself?

So is the NASAghast just not bothered, or is it going to be too slow to respond? It's not like there's no precedent, it waited for DinoChuck to get killed before acting before.
Someone in the other thread asked why Momo had lightning blasts when she's against AI militirization. IIRC, it's for self defense because she's still technically an expensive piece of hardware and needs to make sure she doesn't get stolen.
Still no excuse for using it on an innocent, if assholish, person.

That's an arm, by the way, as are the ones on Psykos' breasts, head, and "fingers". It's going to be interesting to see Murata's design for Psykos, really.

But its still an offensive ability that normal humans don't possess, that she walks around with on a daily basis. In a civilian area. That seems like a far worse offense than a robot being in the military.
Like Momo having electric shock capabilities that she COULD use on someone but would not under most circumstances (presumably the other AI lady whose name I forget is safeguarded against shocks doing any real damage) is a whole different thing from AIs volunteering to join the military which, by its very definition, involves being ready willing and able to kill people.
Yeah, she's not getting into wars, killing humans; she's tazing people who try to assault her (ostensibly, again zapping May was not okay and I hope the comic addresses that.)
I think you're highly exaggerating her electric shock thing which is clearly just a comedic punchline that the other AI will shake off and have no real damage from

Even if it is harmful that's no different than someone walking around with a tazer for self defense
Look, I just demand 100% authenticity from my quasi futuristic relationship drama webcomics.
A taser is also a separate device you can see the person holding. If someone got one of those implanted into their body so they could use it at any time without warning, I would sure as hell be far more leery of being around them than anyone else.

It would be far more amusing to me if QC took a total turn and what we just witnessed was a cold-hearted murder.
Yeah, tazing someone IRL who's just being an asshole would not only be dangerous but also illegal. Momo shocking May is just a silly joke and shouldn't be taken seriously
Again, an almost certainly nonlethal weapon that is designed to be anti-theft deterrent
Not super comparable to willingly signing on to be a literal killing machine
And again, still a literal weapon built into her head. She is a walking weapon, just as much as Bubbles is.
If she is worried about theft, she could just as easily carry around a normal taser, in order to better fit into society.

I guess she could just be a hypocrite.

I'm fine with it being a joke, it's just a really bad time to do that joke. Given they just had that conversation with Bubbles.

But whatever, it's just a dumb joke.
It's not "We need to fit in" it's "We need to stay out of human conflict and not become war machines."
It's the difference from having a gun in your house for self defense and enlisting.
that is it
this is dumb
And you think this is going to stop us?
