yeah I find it hilarious that you get all kinds of graphical upgrades in screenshots like crazy supersampling but then you get a middling jpg pooped out at the end
If you're me and choose bad settings you can aim for even less than middling!

Straaaaaange.
I'm still on a photo spree. This really slows down progressing through the game. Also, sadly I didn't have a Warthog else that last picture would be perfect. :P
I promise that's all for today. Other people should post more pictures too. I love that part of these games.
Could someone please tell me how to find leaderboards for specific classes on the races? Google is not being helpful. It is giving me info on Horizon 2 and Motorsports leaderboards.

No, I am not really communist. Yes, it is weird that I use this name.

I'm a bit on the fence about buying this for PC and have a couple of questions.
First, realizing that this is arcadey, wonder if it's arcadey like NFS is on the PC? I don't mind an arcade racer, but if I'm going to bust out my G27, I want some decent feel from the game, unlike say NFS which your steering wheel may as well be a gamepad. Thoughts on how realistic this feels with a wheel from anyone? None of the reviews I've seen so far have touched on steering wheel feel. Note, that I like the feel of PCars better than Assetto, even though AC is probably a more realistic game. And, I like both of those better than the last version of iRacing I tried (a couple years ago).
Second, I'm running an over clocked 2500k, over clocked R9 280, with 8 gigs of RAM. I know I barely hit the minimum (really close if not), but most games run really well on medium for me. Thinking that this would be a low at 1080p. How bad does low quality look?
On the first point, I think @GnomeTank has some experience running a wheel in the game. The short of it was that you may as well use a gamepad.
As for the performance...I'd suggest taking a gander at the Digital Foundry video I posted on the last page. They do comparisons between the different graphics settings.
Okay, the quality doesn't seem too awful, but i hate using anything but wheels for driving games so maybe this is a pass.
I find a wheel incredibly floaty in this game, and no amount of tweaking the settings has stiffened it up for me yet. I'm using a Thrustmaster TX base with T3PA Pro pedals.
It's playable, but if you're used to playing driving games more to the realistic end of the spectrum, it's not going to feel great. At least it doesn't for me, obviously everyone has their own preference. The way I described it before is that it feels like driving a car with no front grip all the time in the way the wheel feels.
Have you tried many different cars with the wheel? I actually setup my (actually my colleagues) wheel the other day with the express intention of playing FH3 with it.
Yes, several different types and styles, from off roads, to mid engine, to rear engine, fast, slow, etc. The handling model always feels super floaty to me.

Yes it's floaty with a controller, but my mind cares less. My primary driving games are Project Cars, F1 2016 and iRacing, so my brain is used to something approaching a realistic steering feel. The floatyness of the cars doesn't feel as bad on a controller where my brain isn't going "This isn't how this is supposed to feel..." constantly. Obviously your mileage may very. If you have a wheel handy, give it a try, maybe you'll enjoy the feel.

Is there any way to see who is online and playing from the club? For being a social thing I can't find any way to connect with other players. My friends list is pretty outdated from not having an Xbone, but I'd love to do some co-op or online adventures (or anything really) with other folks.

Out of curiosity, are you using normal or 'simulation steering' in options?

It's in the Rivals tab on the pause menu. Festival Route Rivals. You can pick a class there and I imagine if you hit the button to Change Rivals on there it would open the Leaderboards if there isn't a way to view them otherwise.

Best bet is just going into the Club Info on the Club Tab, clicking on and friending people. There's no in-game way for it to show Online/Playing. This is something that will be helped when they roll out the (out of game) Xbox Live Clubs in the next big system update.

Simulation steering, no ABS, manual + clutch, medium traction control.
Did I blow the next corner? Yes.
Totally worth it? Yes!
I love that race and that jump. Every single time I hit that section, I would gun the engine and aim to sail high above that wing. Only once did I not quite have the speed I needed and face-planted on the trailing edge of the wing (my poor Ariel!).

GiantBomb tossed up a 4/5 for this today. I think that's fair. I'm not happy with the wheel controls, but it plays really good on an XBox One pad, and just like FH2, I'm enjoying it.
Is the XBO controller really that better? I should try that on my Windows 10 box.
Pros for -
XB1 controller: the D-pad is better (no more wobbly disk pad thingy), the thumbsticks feel like they require less pressure to use, and I love the shoulder buttons.
360 controller: Hyperdimension Neptunia recognizes the controller.

So, I was able to get in on the Target deal, I got my code and redeemed it. The store page showed I owned it but there wasn't any option to install, maybe because I didn't have the Anniversary Update installed (it didn't say anything, I'm just guessing). So I installed that, and now it doesn't know whether I own it or not. When I got to the store page it has the Buy button, but if I click on that it says, "You already own this. You can only have one copy on your account." Down in the rating and review section it does note that I'm "unable to rate or review as you do not own this product." If I try to enter the code again it says it's already been redeemed. Welp. Any suggestions?
EDIT: Installed the cumulative update and then went through the Store app instead of the website, this seems to be working now.
Well...got the barn find for the Ford XB Falcon. The second it was restored I go over into the Upgrade tab and notice that there's already a preset for it. I barely register how much it costs, but I don't care. Oh yes...I will be driving a magenta colored Interceptor pursuit vehicle from here on out!

All right guys let's just go through the pre-landing checklist here again, ahhh
Sweet air time?
Check! Springs?
Check! Dampers?
Check! Pitch and yaw correct?
Check! This last one must just be a formality, ahh, tires?
... Tires?
@Knight_ I tried turning on sim steering and it actually feels better and less floaty. I don't end up murdering myself like I do with sim steering in Forza Motorsports. Maybe try that before giving up on the game?
@acidlacedpenguin I created a championship in Surfers Paradise just for you.

I don't know, some kind of bug. I wasn't riding on the rims, it was like I'd engaged hover mode. Pretty sure you can't lose them normally, as I've hit hard enough to yard sale like a new skier (mirrors, wing, even a muffler fell off lol) without ever seeing tires go before. I was switching between pre saved tunes (which involved different tire compounds) while kangarooing around hills and I'm guessing that did it.
Communist, what about landing jumps? I prefer the feel of sim 90% of the time, but I've found if I'm a little off in the air and try to put in some pre-correction for the landing, it just snaps the other way super hard and I lose it. Also drifting was waaaay harder on sim haha (maybe I'm just not gentle enough).

Landing with Sim steering is all about throttle control, I've found. If you're holding down the throttle when you land and you're not perfectly in line, especially on sim, you will not have a good time. Have to let up a split second, let the car settle and then make any needed correction before you power out. Settling the car right before the jump is also helpful. Can't speak to the difference on drifting, as I've driven Sim Steering (on controller) in every Forza since Motorsport 4 and am pretty crap at drifting anyway.

I just lost a championship even though I got first place in every race, because Confused Walrus' drivatar was in the race twice. It gave him championship points for both of his finishing positions in each race - and he's in my drivatar lineup! The injustice... *hovers the fire button*

But it doesn't feel floaty with a controller?

edit - although it would be neat to try Motorsport with a wheel
Playing FM6 with my Logitech G920 wheel is magical. The downside is that it's physically tiring, so I can only play one (maybe two) races per sitting.

Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
Guess who just took advantage of our corporate bourgeoisie overlords and snagged that deal? :bzz:
Now I have to download the game, 47 gigs is not exactly small.

It's the "Beep Beep" (I'm a Jeep!) that makes this.
