ALL DONATIONS ARE DUE BY DECEMBER 21ST @ 11:59PM EST

The enduring tradition continues! While we wait for St. Newell to usher in the winter sale, we pass the time helping sick kids! Here's some helpful rules and advice:

USER INCENTIVES
$2,500: Berylline is going to do a basic stream for the thread!
$2,500: 21stCentury is raffling pixel art to $20+ donors!
$5,000: TeeMan is offering handmade physical pixel art pieces in a raffle to those that donate $20 or more!

Current Bean Counters: Bobkins Flymo

1. To donate, just post proof of donating to Child's Play or a donation of items/money to your local children's hospital. The Child's Play site is useful for finding hospital wish lists! Please include an @ notification for any of the bean counters listed above. Don't forget to include quotation marks around people with more than one word in their names.
2. Want to donate anonymously? Then just PM a bean counter!
3. Don't break the bank donating! If money is tight, then consider offering an incentive. Be realistic in both your being able to fulfill the incentive and the thread's capability to raise whatever you're offering.
4. Donations made prior to December 1st, 2014 at midnight EST do not count. The point of this is to generate new donations, not to have people scrambling to find older ones.
5. This is all being tracked in US Dollars ($), so converting foreign currencies beforehand is not required but very helpful!
6. Charity bundles and such do count, but only for how much of the purchase goes to Child's Play.
7. If you wish to be a bean counter, then PM me and I will hand you the link to the donation spreadsheet and add your name to the OP.
8. A popular thing to do is match donations or offer money for the community doing certain things. Keep in mind our community can be ridiculously generous, and your offer may be a hefty sum of money. Consider putting a cap on the maximum you'll donate if that's a concern.
9. Geth incentives will last for one month! People will be able to submit all the various names and such for Geth during the first week of the Steam Sale, and voting will occur in the final three days. Note that a "header" is a custom graphic that will appear in the background of Geth's posts.
10. Normal Steam Thread rules apply! Please resist the urge to beg for games or other bad behavior. Robot Santa is making a list, and he performs over 50 megachecks a second!

I'll be doing my donation once I get back to the computer, but in case anyone is waiting for a "match the donation" thing, I won't be able to do that this year. I just bought a house, and have two weddings in the budget for next year, so I won't be able to go nuts this time.

Nope. :-P Marrying a Filipina. Her family doesn't have the money to come out here, we can't expect my family/our friends to go out there, so that means a wedding here and a wedding there. And also one extra flight over there to get interviewed by a bishop so we can use the church (hooray!)

Grabbed some of the less-than-5-bucks games on my list. Not too many, as I still have a metric fuckton to catch up on, but a few.

And speaking of catching up, I have explored all the locations available in Black Flag (at least up to sequence 6) and have upgraded my ship to almost max, turned all the locations gold, destroyed all the legendary ships. Now it looks to be just heading through the story and seeing where it goes. It should be fun to bomb through the rest of the stuff with the best ship, the Templar armor, and the gold pistols & gunswords.

It's a fantastic little title by Tribute Games.

Now, I may be biased because they operate close to me, but I think their games so far (wiz orb and mercenary kings) were fantastic.

Curses 'N Chaos is no exception so far.

I only played about an hour last night but... It's great. It's very old school. One screen beat em up action where you have to survive wave after wave of enemies using your fists and wits.

It's challenging and surprisingly strategic. The pace is a bit slower than you'd expect, I think. Not that it's not hectic at times.

Anyway, it's still 50% off so... Get it, I guess?

Or don't. Not my responsibility to get y'all to get great games. :razz:

So hilariously Just Cause 3won't start for me. I've tried deleting it but it somehow starts the new download at 21gbs and just doesn't download anything more.

The one game I want to play this year won't work. Sounds about right in the life of isy.

Its running like hot garbage for me. Insane fps drops, I turned everything really low and the lighting changed from like night to day. If I tab out, the resolution seemed to change when I tabbed back in and everything was blurry as fuck. Switching from windowed back to fullscreen changed my resolution, but not the setting. I had to change the resolution then change it back to get it to 1920x1080, then tabbed out to check something, tabbed back in and it was blurry and different.

That fucking sucks, I was super hyped for it.

This does fucking suck. Everything works fine for me (and it runs much, much better than I thought it would), but I'm hearing that a lot of people are having issues.

It's an amazing game so far, I hope something can be figured out to get it running for you guys.

For me tabbing in and out flat out crashes the game. So does changing the resolution.

I found a work around with editing the game's settings file in My Documents so I can at least play at my native resolution. Just have to remember not to ALT TAB ever.

Here's hoping the hotfixes come thick and fast for JC3 then. I thought the frame rate issues were down to my system, but it sounds like there's more to the story

My local hospital's Wishlist is sadly out dated. Does Amazon allow me to send them non Wishlist items? They are missing a few years worth of games and are asking for RIPD and After Earth DVDs. These kids deserve better.
