As the title says, I am in need of a new computer chair. The one I have now is good, but sadly is on its way out ( the armpads are falling apart and the screws/bolts holding it together have been loosening themselves randomly for a while now.)
What I am looking for is the following, to give a list:
- High back is needed, I never cared for the mid back chairs, and have tried them in stores and they always feel to short for me.
- Reclining and tilt are desired, I sometimes spend time just reclining back in the chair and watching movies, shows, w/e.
- Headrest preferred; related to the above a headrest would be nice to have when I am reclining back.
- Durable obviously, I do not want to have to replace it in a year because it fell apart. (My present chair I have had for 5+ years)
- Ideally, I would like a chair that would be comfortable in both summer and winter, and not be annoying in one or the other.
- Not sure of the material(s) [My present chair is a cushion seat with a mesh back and mesh/fabric headrest].
- I do not really want to spend more than $300 US. I am not looking for one of the $1200 chairs that are some crazy design chair that was handmade in Italy by some monks and crafted out of seal skin. (=p)
So there ya go. Thanks for any help/advice given. I have tried looking in stores such as Office Depot, Staples, and Walmart, and I have not been particularly impressed with the selection, most of the chairs in those places are of the mid back variety.

(It looks like the same model anyway.) It's holding up pretty well. Mesh backs are great, but these days I prefer to get a mesh seat as well whenever possible. The mesh seat lets your ass breathe, for one thing, but also cushion seats tend to get pressed thin over time until you are basically sitting on a board, which frankly kills my back no matter how great the back rest happens to be. Mesh seats remain their same old springy selves for their entire life.
Bonus: It's cheap.
second this chair, it's what I have now. Like it just fine, for the price.
They had a big display at PAX East but every chair was filled, all day long, by young kids playing on handheld gaming systems. There were no salespeople or representatives anywhere around, every time we went by.
I didn't get to sit down in one the whole time. That is really not how you sell a chair, folks.
It's not a computer chair, per se. But it is extremely comfortable and fills all your requirements.
