So I get to buy the parts I need for a new computer, and I am humbly seeking advice on which ones to obtain. The challenge in this event is that I have to get them from B.B., as that is where we have the card for. ( I am not site whoring for them, so if you can't tell who I mean by saying B.B., then you don't get to play.)
The components I require are a mobo, proc, vid card and ram. I already have the disk drives, although I could probably stand to pick up a new writable drive. I don't think I require a new case, but if there is one I shouldn't live without, let me know?
On your mark...
Get set...
Go!
...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
I don't know shit about computer inner workings. All I know that theres a hard drive in there, a graphics card, some RAM, something called a Motherboard, and some super chip that companies give silly names to (like Celleron, what the fuck does that mean?)
I absolutely sure I'm missing stuff, like a fan and disk players. Think you need something to plug it into the wall too.
the zune is a great piece of hardware
the software could use improvements
but in terms of actual sound quality
it schools the ipod
even comparable to an ipod line-out

I own a Creative Zen VIsion: M.
Horrible name aside, it's a great fucking multimedia player. It supports more fucking file formats than anything else on the market, holds 30 gigs, great battery life, plays Divx/Xvid, has am/fm radio and as long as you don't upgrade the firmware for it you can actually record things straight off the radio.
The only problem is software support - creative's media manager is a joke. But I love this thing, and it was absolutely worth the price. Sound quality is good, file format is outstanding, and it is easy as hell to use.
You'll never, ever find accessories for it, though, which is kind of a bummer.

3DS: 5241-1953-7031
gigabyte ds3
some ddr2
aftermarket fan
this setup lets you clock it from 1.8 to 3 = ridiculous performance for your $$
anyhow if you're doing all your shopping through best buy who knows what those fuckers stock anyhow
Just from hearing about it on these forums I take it that it sucks ass.
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
No...no....the parts they sell are also trash.
I was just lookin this stuff up myself recently. Right now some of the current price/performance kings are:
Intel Core Duo2 E6300
OCZ DDR2-800 Ram
Nvidia 8800 GTS 320MB RAM version
you can also shave some money if you're close on your budget by getting an AMD processor/mobo setup.

they're cheaper, even though the MB to $ ratio is of course not as good
but you're also not fucked when you lose your $60 mp3 player like when you get your $300 ipod jacked
