What is Ace Combat?
Ace Combat is a generation/console-spanning action game series starring several tens of different warplanes, from even the F4U Corsair used in the Pacific Theater of WW2, to the F-14 Tomcat so romanticized by Top Gun, to the previous generation of cutting edge stealth fighters such as the F-22 Raptor, and even featuring some planes that have yet to exist! The piloting of these planes is set against a backdrop of war and conflict, sometimes even exploring the psychic costs of war long after peace has been obtained, whether it's through flying your plane through a tiny underground tunnel to destroy a control panel, dismantling world-shaking superweapons, or taking to the skies to shoot down other aces. The amount of missiles you can carry is complete fantasy (lol 80 missiles how would that even get off the ground) but the concepts are totally bitchin'!
The Arkbird, a spacecraft capable of deploying a ground-targeting laser:
Stonehenge, an array of railguns originally built to destroy an asteroid, repurposed for anti-air superiority:
Chandelier, a single massive railgun built again to combat an asteroid:
Excalibur, a chemical laser tower built for anti-missile defense:
The Hekatonkheires, a trio of aerial fortresses consisting of the Aigaion, the Gyges, and the Kottos:

The Ace Combat series spans 18 games, some better than the others (Ace Combats 4, 5, and 0 are probably the best), and a stellar soundtrack for most of them. Seriously, it's probably one of the more underrated game series with amazing music out there.

It's essentially Game Dev Story, which is one of the best games they made, with different skins and a new (though largely superficial) character design thing where you can make your own highly marketable character

- Espionage Eleven, a tale of spies and subterfuge in the world of soccer
