So, apparently some telemarketers or robocallers company got a hold of my cell phone number.
I'm using DND and all that, but it's a half measure. I can keep 'blocking' numbers as they show up. Unfortunately I'm still getting about 6-10 calls a day. And even with DND, I still have to clear them out.
Is there anyway without jailbreaking that I can whitelist my contact list so that they just get shut the fuck down before they even get anywhere? I only have a list of like 5 phone numbers.
not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me
I know Google Voice can make it so your phone "answers" calls with the disconnected sounds. If you're getting repeated calls from some numbers that might kill them but is unlikely to fix the problem unless you set it up for all of them for awhile. Which isn't really a great answer there.
@DevoutlyApathetic do you think I can forward all calls through my google voice number and just white list from there? That'd be an okay solution for the time being, no one really 'calls' me anyways.

Default use for Voice is to forward your number to the Voice number. It will then forward it back depending on rules you set.
Get Google Voice number.
Set up all the people you want to reach you as contacts. Under settings you can set what happens with "All Contacts" and what will happen with "Anonymous Numbers". Have the first ring your phone and the second just get ditched to voicemail.
The Voice website will list out all your incoming calls and people who tried to reach you. Under the "more" option on a call is block which for Google Voice means they get the disconnected tone and hopefully give the fuck up.
I'm unsure if "Anonymous" is only people who block their caller ID or really those you don't have set as contacts and don't have a great way to test it.
looks like I can't have it forwarded to my phone since it would just reforward back to google voice. But this is an okay compromise, no one really calls me anyways.
I figure after a few months of this they'll give up and mark my phone number as garbage.

I can't get call forwarding to work, it just fails with an unknown error
