To avoid the long story, the quick of it is our neighbour next door is being a bit of a dick towards, well, everyone around him. This would be putting it mildly. Towards us, he is only verbally abusive so far but has begun to perform small vandalism towards our neighbour across the street from us. There is of course, no definitive proof of this, but everyone in the area is fairly certain it was him due to certain actions he has taken previously that border the legal and are widely known.

What I'm looking to do is to set up a small security camera to monitor a small patch of area between our driveway and that of our neighbour across the street during the evenings. I have checked with some legal counsel and this should be completely fine to do.

I'm hoping that someone here may be able to recommend a home security company in the Toronto area that offers closed circuit, or possibly have some advice on converting an old tower and webcam into a monitoring system. I'd heard there are inexpensive ways to do this, but my Google skills are failing me this morning.

Don't know if a webcam would give you enough resolution to make it worth the bother? At the same time, I'd still want to try that first just because it can be done for next to nothing.

This is reflective of the "reasonably" priced home install systems out there. Still seems like too much money to bother over though. It's along the same lines as a webcam, but higher resolution.
