BCEC Load-In
If you're travelling by car, pull into the Westin/BCEC area at the base of the giant media wall. Follow this road (West Side Drive) all the way past the building, and down and back up the ramp. Keep following the road until you get to Level 1 Southwest. This will be the first glass vestibule you come to on your right hand side.

We will have signs posted where the load-in area will be and there will be Enforcers inside the building manning a security station that can hold your equipment for you while you park your car.

For those of you staying at the Westin, you've got a bit of a walk...sorry about that! Go straight from the skybridge connecting the Westin and the BCEC and down the escalator. Keep going the same direction through North Lobby and around the Northwest corner of the building. Keep following the hallway until you get to "Southwest Lobby B2". This will be the second lobby you come to, just past the food court. From there you can make use of either the RIGHT escalator or the elevator down to the PC Room level (Level 0/ Hall Southwest C1).

Note that BYOC opens at 8:30am on Friday, 90-mins earlier than the rest of the show. Obviously that's pending our ability to make sure things are totally ready for you, but the idea is you'll be able to set up your rig with plenty of time to hop in the Expo Hall line.

Group Seating Requirements

• Your party is considered a group if you have SIX or more people.
• Groups must pre-register seating assignments prior to PAX, or else seats will be based on first come first serve availability
• Requests are taken on a first come, first serve basis.

To request group seating, email [email protected]

For seating, is it six or more people or six or more passes? My group has 4 people but 6 BYOC passes between us (2 of us have a pair of them).

Guidebook lists the CyberTronPC room with no mention of BYOC? That will surely help with the ever decreasing size of BYOC

Do you mean in space or numbers?? Has it been decreasing? I haven't gone to
East in a few years, but always assumed it was growing.
I love the byoc, I consider it like the best kept secret. Also, learned it's also a fundraiser. Fun and good!

Space is there, participation is decreasing. Seems like less and less prizes and sponsors as well. I'd like Pax's "best kept secret" to stay around. Hope this year BYOC is great. Thanks for getting this info post up Dreggor

hey just making sure but i dont have to do anything for the will call bit for my BYOC pass right? i only have the email receipt for the pass due to me having to get a 3 day from stub hub
also if there's anyone needing one more for a group or something shoot me a pm
will also be bringing some spare things if people need anything: half reel of cat.6 with connectors (yay for working in IT), sata cables, usb cables.

We haven't received any of ours yet. Two addresses and orders. I just assumed they were still working on it. Byoc usually goes out later than badges.

Odd. I received my BYOC pass along with my regular passes.

I know my emails didn't match for my order, so that explains mine, but my friends did and neither of us got ours yet. Maybe we should be worried lol. I have receipts, worse case we figure it out week of. I don't tend to worry with pax stuff til week of.

Will the BYOC team have access to some servers to host game servers for BYOC LAN?

Have not received my BYOC passes...so I'm rightfully concerned I feel. Given that I am usually not the one that orders entrance passes to begin with (I can't normally take days off to be at a computer on days where we MIGHT be able to get passes, so I rely on friends to do this for me.) I purchased the BYOC passes when they became available, have the receipts. They say they've been shipped but that was the last notification I got about them. We are a week away, and I'm wondering if I'll get them in the mail, or if I'm going to have to show up and show the purchase orders for them to Will Call, or some such? I'll be right annoyed if I show up with my laptop after coughing up $80 and not be able to do anything with it.

If they don't arrive by Friday morning this week, email [email protected] with your information and they will set you up with instructions. Before that they will likely just tell you to keep waiting.

so im looking at the app on my phone i see no mention to BYOC on here just a cybertronpc room, are we to assume that this is where BYOC is located and why isnt it at least mentioned?

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE UPDATED BEFORE YOU PACK YOUR COMPUTER

Reason I say this: right now Steam is in the middle of downloading ~70 game updates for me, each 100-250MB. The reason: a Windows update at some point made one of the installer redistributables change, and this is Steam trying to "fix" that file for every game that needed that "update".

Not quite. More along the lines of late resources (physical product) and new resources (network/server team). It's been a crazy several months planning for PAX East and we are working with a more localized crew right now. A lot of the are very experienced in their fields, but this will be a first PAX. So our focus for this year is getting proper training in before and during the show. I, and I'm sure Dreggor, want to keep everything to what we have to ensure you all experience a smooth ride... and it's a bit late to be adding more servers onto our current load. Mind you, we are covering the entire PC area... something like 700-800 PC/laptops.

I already messaged Dreggor, but if anyone has any further insight into this problem we are having please share any solutions. We have not received our BYOC badges yet (Group House LAN-ister) I am not sure what to do if we do not receive them, the email has had no response and its only a few days away. I want to be able to check in around 8 at the BYOC entrance and not have to worry about lugging PC stuff around trying to figure out if we need to see customer service desk or something if we dont have a response... WAT DO?!
