A friend of mine passed away a few days ago. Among other things I was asked by his girlfriend if I could help her find a solution to set up a memorial website in his honor - something that would include some media of him(videos, images, music , etc) and a donation link to a paypal account or local charitable association in his honor.
As it is, setting up a static site and a few pages isn't difficult for me to do, but I also realize that it might lead to maintenance woes now or later on down the road, either due to servers or domain and especially if there's some sort of paypal account or comments section, and she's not incredibly tech savvy. I'd like to provide something that's going to make that as minimal as possible. With that in mind, am I blowing up that concern too much, and should I go ahead and set up the site myself? If not, can anyone recommend a service that takes care of some of this overhead? Something I could set up and pay, then teach her to use so that she can add things for herself as they come to her.
If you are comfortable with a monthly fee, squarespace or something similar would probably be the easiest, as they have a dashboard and drag and drop controls for adding content and such. Maybe a bit expensive for this use, though.
There are some fancier tumblr themes out there, so that may not be a terrible option, but it also may give you more of a blog feel overall than you want.

Since it probably will be a media-focused site, that might work. Don't know how much control you have over the layout, though.
