Gafgarion + and Wiegraf ++ are both trivial with Drawtaliate, if you want to go that route. Wiegraf doesn't spend long enough at range to be a real issue.

The big stack of MHOs from Wiegraf put me most of the way to R2 Saint Cross. Gonna be silly if I end up with that honed before my ****ing Full Break.

I looked at honing Saint Cross to R2, saw I was short five MEOs, said "whatever" and went and created/honed an Alexander to R2 since Aerith needed some other skill for the battle.

Then I noticed what the prize was for Belias.

So... now I need an MHO.

Luckily, I have so many story maps. I'm sure there are a couple somewhere.

    All bonus battles crushed.

On Belias, he actually turned Rinoa to stone. But I was prepared and had Esuna on Agrias just because. So I cured that right up.

I took a couple more turns to kill the adds than many of you, but it still wasn't bad. I used Banishing Strike as my source of Holy damage, because I needed the 6 MEO's from Belias to hone up Saint Cross. So I didn't have R2 Saint Cross until after the battle. But I just single-target killed the 3 adds.

And of course Shout + Valiant Strike remains the most silly and OP thing ever.

Someone had a honed Maduin. Is he a useful summon? Will he be getting the double hit summon buff later?

Also, when is the double hit summon buff happening? When did Japan get it?

Maduin gets double-hit with the Summon Nightmare, I think.

    So do:

    Ifrit
    Shiva
    Ramuh
    Velfor
    Bahamut?

I think I'm missing one or two more? Fat Chocobo is clearly king since he already has double-hit.

Maduin is a great 4* summon to hone up. Doesn't conflict with anything really and will get the 2-hit buff whenever it hits. No idea when.

I made 2 copies of it and honed them both up to rank 5; none of the other 4* summons (besides Carbuncle) are all that great for the orbs spent, and the 5* summons are basically unobtainable at any usable rank.

I made an R2 Leviathan and honed Fat Chocobo to R2, and can R3 one or the other in a pinch. I'd like to do R2 Alexander as well, 'cause Alexander. No idea what it looks like in FFRK though.

Belias be-feated. Had to S/L a few times because the Archaic Demons LOVED smacking me with Karma at low health. A bit sad Saint Cross is single hit only, I guess I just thought it would be all with Sky Grinder doing it. Also I learned that Tyro is NOT fast enough to take advantage of Thief's Revenge and gets only one hit.

Near the end, though. Got Shout and Hallowed Bolt out in quick succession. A very sexy 35K or so damage

Belias was a pain, but for all the wrong reasons. He confused Tyro almost right away, and the Tyro apparently had something that has a chance to Stop, because he turned around and stopped Quistis, so both of them spent the first half of the fight being liabilities and Belias went un-Magic Broken. Luckily, only lost a medal apiece to time and damage. Probably should've just S/Led when Tyro decided to be a dick. Everything would've gone much smoother.

Now need to go track down two MHOs somewhere.

Man, I crushed Belias. That was the first ultimate where I was completely in control.

Agrias: Life Siphon, Banishing Strike, Knight's Charge, SSB
Vanille: Diaga, Renewing Cure, Medica, Summoner's Prayer RM
Y'shtola: Shellga, Curaga, Stoneskin 2, Dr. Mog
Ramza: Full Break, Magic Breakdown, Shout, Mako Might
Beatrix: Protectga, Saint Cross, Rose of May, Ace Striker

RW: Valiant Strike with 450ATK from synergy.

    That felt good.

I have R3 Maduin and use it all the time. I made Leviathan R2 as my second summon since the orb costs fit in easily with what I had at the time, and water element is pretty good in general and doesn't run into any problems in daily dungeons where I use summons the most.

Honed Fat Chocobo once because it can break damage cap which is useful at times, i'ts been super useful for some bonus battles and it is a fat chocobo.

And I have like an R4 Shiva. I'd like to make more of the 4 star summons but they're not a huge priority.

Oh my god fuck you Wiegraf.

That whole fight is a test of luck, to see how many times he'll choose to counterattack your every action.

My favorite two instances were when my first action resulted in a counter on my white Mage, killing her in one shot, and the time he Stopped Agrias when she was in the middle of casting Slowga. I wouldn't have minded so much, except that when the Stop wore off and she finished her cast, she missed! And then Wiegraf countered the failed Slowga!

One turn of 4x attack from Wiegraf resulted in ~25k damage from Drawvancetaliate. Way more entertaining than slowing him.

At the end of the fight, the first counterattack from a 4x hit depleted his life bar, and then the next three counters missed him, which seemed kinda weird. Probably related to the fact that he has a line to give when defeated.

yeah all the bonus fights are weak against Slow and Stun That helps a ton.

Mastered the Belias fight after only a few S/L due to getting someone focused down immediately as the fight started a few times.

Ultimate Belias down no medals lost. Basically took the advice of others in here and went without Wall and tried to burn down Adds quickly.

    EqhxHUl.png

Shellga +Magic Breakdown+Shout on turn one, Agrias used Saint's Cross for the objective. Then Cloud unleashed with Blade beam.

Second turn was Meteor and Hallowed Bolt (7.5k a hit for about 30k ) which cleaned up any remaining adds (Meteor did the trick, but Hallowed Bolt was there just in case). Ramza used Full break and Cloud followed up with Fenrir Overdrive (hit for about 5k a pop for about 40k damage). Lenna at this point was on full heal duty. Belias used Titan which hit for 500-700 on the party.

Third turn was life siphons and Meteor, Ramza used Magic Breakdown and Lenna healed. Belias used Titan.

Turn four was more life siphons and meteor, Ramza used Full break and lenna healed. Belias used Titan.

Turn five, more life siphons+meteor, Ramza used Magic Breakdown, lenna uses Princess' Favor. Belias used Titan.

Turn six. Agrais used Hallowed Bolt, Cloud used Fenrir Overdrive, Ramza uses Hail of rocks, and Terra uses Magitek Missiles. He died partway through Fenrir Overdrive.

    Not too bad, I used

Yuffie Steal Power/Tempo Flurry (Clear Tranquil) - Never actually did anything with her damage output was so low
    Ramza Magic Breakdown/Full Break
    Garnet Curaja/Shellga (Divine Guardian)
    Lightning Lifesiphon/Drain Strike (Crushing Blow)
    Agrias Lifesiphon/Banishing Strike (Cleansing Strike)
    RW: wall

Took a couple S/Ls to not die to the adds early, but once I decided to just Divine Guardian first instead of casting shellga like a stupid, I won. Charged up a Crushing Blow, killed adds, boss hit for about 80 a hit for the rest of the fight. Lost a medal for damage taken. Happy to finally get a +30 atk accessory, even if it does have bad synergy.

Fantastic. I did the no-Wall run partially from the past convo's about what to hone and knowing you had Agrias Relics as well, but no Wall.

I guess I can belatedly post my party.

    Agrias - Life Siphon/Saint Cross
    Aerith - Curaga/Alexander
    Ramza - Life Siphon/Full Break
    Quistis - Magic Breakdown/Armor Breakdown
    Tyro - Tempo Flurry/Poison Shell
    RW: Shout

Quistis and Tyro with Mog's/Mako, popped their MG8/Wall at the start, Ramza RWed himself. Ramza and Agrias were both doing in the 8000+ range on every attack even without Quistis applying Armor Breakdown until relatively late in the fight thanks to their SSB weapons. Even Tyro was hitting in the 7000+ range once he stopped harassing Quistis, although he didn't manage to apply any statuses either. Other than that and healing up the damage from the start before all the mitigation was up, smooth sailing.

It's pretty good, mitigation cap is significant. Also Kaiser Shield makes Crushing Blow a real SSB instead of suffering the AoE penalty. Probably my best overall relic so far, just wish I stopped pulling on Tactics when I got it on my first draw :/. Divine Guardian probably best SB because Hastega is ludicrously broken. Like, I knew this from using it as RW, being able to shove it into every team on every fight is super nice.

Whoever thought Sporefall was an acceptable idea to put in this game should be castrated. Boss casts it every turn, everyone gets Confused, has their ATB reset, guaranteeing the boss will take his turn next, where he will repeat this chain of events.

    Ultimate downed.

    Party:
    SrIcsCI.png
RW in the actual kill was Mighty Guard (VIII), No Wall

A few S/Ls due to bad ATB starts and one attempt where I forgot to refresh Magic Breakdown and got wrecked for that.

Opening was Magic Breakdown, RW from Agrias, Meteor, Alexander and Crushing Blow
Second round was Alexander and Meteor to make sure everything was dead.
Lightning uses Drain Strike as necessary, Lifesiphon otherwise to build up her SB again.
    Ramza did Breakdown -> Siphon x2 -> Breakdown -> Tailwind -> Siphon -> Breakdown -> Tailwind -> Siphon -> Breakdown
Agrias burnt off Banishing Strikes first, then got to work with Saint's Cross to dish out damage. Refreshed the RW at around 50% for insurance.
Terra fired off her remaining Meteors, then just used all her Firajas before finishing with Magitek Missile. Had a second one prepped to finish
Yuna had her two Alexanders in the opening part to kill off the adds before patching up with Curajas then Trigger Happy and started shooting

A month ago, I would not have been able to do this.

    Attack: ~320 for Agrias/Ramza, 340 for Lightning
Mag: 370 for Terra, 327 for Yuna
Res: All above 200. Terra has highest with 270

    Sigh.

Beat Belias Ultimate, but it looks like Mastery isn't happening. Just too much damage coming out too fast, and there aren't enough special objectives for a safety-net of extra medals. He doesn't even have the standard "don't get KO'd" objective.

I really wanted those Major Earth Orbs, too.

It's literally the best shared SB for healing once Cid's Missions come out (in 3 months or so) if you don't have a native medica for that realm, since you need to clear the hardest level of content with only characters from that realm

mid regen adds up to a lot of healing over time which really takes the stress off your poor healer
