Help with Echo/Blutooth?

YallYall Registered User regular
Hi guys,

On my boat (with no wifi) and trying to pair my iPhone with my echo for music streaming.

However when I tell Alexa to pair all she says is that she can't find my wifi network. Tried a few different things but can't seem to get it to work.

Any thoughts?

The issue is that the Echo is built around a Wifi connection, so Alexa may be crippled without it. You might want to consider a Tap.

Supposedly it'll work as long as you've paired your device beforehand. However, if you haven't paired before, you need a network connection for it to fetch the pairing instructions.

What is this I don't even.

Use your phone as a wifi hotspot just long enough to do the pairing?

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately the phone-as-a-hotspot plan was foiled by the fact that during the wifi setup process, the connected users are disco'ed.
