ok so every so often when I'm playing alone in a pub server, someone over voicechat will say something like "let's go boys" or "come on lads" or something else innocuous that's meant to be encouraging and helpful but it lands on the implication that we are all boys
(I don't tend to class "guys" as being gendered in the same way, weirdly enough)
and then I feel kinda awkward cuz there's a part of me that wants to correct them but then I also don't want to be THAT person who has to draw attention to the fact that we are not all boys
I used to be used to it, but then I'm like, should I still be used to it? it used to annoy me, then I accepted it, and now it's just making me sad (probably since this is the first FPS I've played in years), cuz how does that sort of thing change unless people point out that there are girls playing, too?
it's happened a fair bit in the last few days and has been easy to ignore cuz I'm usually playing with friends
but yeah on my lonesome it seems to be more noticeable and happen more and I don't really know what to do about it
I'll take misgendering over my usual experience with pub chat, the one I tried I got called the N and F word about 30 Times in about4 minutes. Haven't turned it back on since

Yeah how do you get your PoTG's out of overwatch and onto Youtube? Is there some kind of import feature?
I'm using OBS. There's a bit of setup, but once that's done you can just hit record whenever.
If you have an nvidia card, definitely use shadowplay. It has no noticeable performance penalty, can record the past X minutes or when you push a button or both, and records in top quality with or without your mic voice.
Open the "Geforce Experience" program, click shadowplay in the right, then enable shadowplay in its settings window by clicking on the switch.
Ok, Lucio players, omg Lucio players! We can hunt Widowmakers and Tracers!
with the LUCIO PAUNCH!!!!
Seriously, go practice a round or two and you will love it, just learn to song twist to zoom and dart in on folks and add a melee strike, I beat the face off a Widowmaker all match spidermanning up walls to PAUNCH/blast/PAUNCH.
I THINK she can only be killed but I could be wrong
Roadhog can definitely rip her out of the sky with his hook. Only one I've personally done other than just the standard headshot her out of it approach.
i think hanzo is p.weak but the one thing he does have in his arsenal is the ability to fart on any one of your limbs and for some reason do 300 damage
im creating a highlight reel of being killed by Hanzos who managed to hit my shoulder armor or my thumb or my knee-cap or something else that doesn't seem like it should kill me
That first choke on Temple of Anubis is probably the worst spot in the entire game.
Even more so if a Symettra has filled the one flank route with turrets.
I would posit that the first choke on Hollywood is in the running, too. That building on the left side for the attackers going effing nowhere useful is such a disappointment.

Hanzo would probably feel better if Widowmaker wasn't so good. Instant travel time on her shots, a trap to shut down flanking and a great mobility skill. All Hanzo really has on her is his ult, and it's not like Widowmaker's ult is bad at all. Hanzo's ult just fills a different role being area denial.
I feel like something should be tweaked about Widowmaker but I'm not sure what. A really good widowmaker shuts down a game in a way that no other character on their own seems to be able to, and basically turns the entire game into having to kill her right away to be able to do anything. Maybe they could drop her health to 150? She's super high damage, good mobility, why not just make her into a glass cannon? Hanzo being at 200 health would help differentiate them some as well. Maybe tweak her charge time, make it take longer to get to full charge, or lower the damage a good bit when she's not at full charge. Getting a fully charged headshot should be devastating, but her semi-charged body shots are an incredible threat still. This is on PC, I imagine she's not as tough to deal with on consoles. Maybe give her inverse damage fall off up close on charged shots or something. Getting up close on a good widowmaker only for her to snap headshot/bodyshot means she can often win the 1v1 fight, or sometimes stop it before it even starts.

also I have so much fun rolling with the Aussie PA crew, or at least the ones I know from PAXau, + @JoeUser aka Hammer Time
this game increases in fun exponentially just by playing with people you know
we need to get some more 6-man groups on the weekend cuz I don't even care if we lose those, I have so much fun playing with you guys
I am currently rolling with a lot of the people on GMT. It seems my propensity to hop on after work lines up better with their evenings. Really nice people...though I fear I whine to much by their standards...lol

I think hanzo does a lot better in close range than widow does but he is not as good of a sniper
Widowmakers assault rifle isn't a slouch, and a good one can sneak in semi charged shots at close ranges too. Of course, if you burned your mobility cooldown to get on top of her, she can just burn her cooldown to grappling hook away and avoid the close range fight for a bit anyway, which is an option hanzo doesn't have available. If you get up on a Hanzo he has to stick around and fight it out. So that's why it's pretty odd to me that they have the same HP, especially when Widowmaker has better damage projection than hanzo.

I'd like to nominate King's Row. Lately my luck on it hasn't been that bad, but there were teams of defenders where we could not get past that first wall no matter what.

King's Row at least gives you a building to building gap that is jumpable thus giving you a route around the main wall.

That is/was somewhat helpful but initially the defending teams had this gauntlet of turrets, snipers and traps on every conceivable route and even if we made it through there was usually a reaper waiting to take us out at the end.

Super secret King's Row first point strat:
5 Winstons, 1 Lucio. Winstons use their leap in spawn to get up to the top spawn gate, and the Lucio wall rides up there. (If your Lucio is not good at wall riding, have someone on your team go Mei and ice elevator him to the top spawn point, poking fun at them for needing a an elevator is recommended). At the start of the match Lucio pops his speed boost all the Winstons jump out of the top spawn and then engage their leap midair, this should result in all 5 winstons clearing the wall and landing directly on the first point, Lucio catches up via being fast and wall riding. Against some enemy team comps you will then die horribly, but against a lot of them they will be pretty surprised and you'll be able to take the first point easily. If the gambit doesn't pay off, oh well, you wasted like 15 seconds and can switch up to a real team comp as you spawn.
Success or failure, it's super fun to do and usually puts the enemy team on tilt.
Almost had that lineup last night. Pub game, everyone was Winston and the asked (demanded) I be Winston as well. Worked for about 3 seconds, then we all died to the enemy team of Reapers.

I had a game like that yesterday, it was so much fun! We went 5 Winston 1 Lucio to start, took the first point. They respawned as 5 Reapers and 1 Lucio, and of course obliterated us. We responded with 5 Pharahs 1 Lucio, and then crushed them in return and pushed the cart most of the way. Then they incorrectly responded with 5 Roadhogs, 1 Lucio. The hooks are too slow, and Roadhogs are too easy to hit and he has no armor or shields, so it was very easy to farm ults off of them and we sealed the match out doing 5 back to back justice rains from above in a row. They should have gone for something like 5 Soldier 76s, 1 Lucio.
What a fun match though, I love how everyone was on the same page and willing to push these silly team comps to the limit.
also: I got POTG defending on Dorado by starting the game with a torbjorn turret just kind of tucked into the corner next to the enemy spawn exit
the enemy team took care of it almost immediately but not until after they'd eaten an initial team wipe

Wait nobody mentioned hanamura A as a shitty experience? 1 main door and then 1 entrance only vertically mobile chars can go up just seems drastically worse than all the other ones I've seen so far
King's row A probably clocks in 2nd for me but the high route is something anyone can take if they drop down and then take the stairs to the terrace overlooking the defense point, which also has an indoor path underneath to get behind the defense point
Again for hollywood anyone can take the alternate routes so i don't feel like it's as limiting as Hanamura

were you looking at the explosion
please say no
D.Va can't knock her around, but that's not a true stun, so I think she's locked in place until something cancels her ult and then she can be moved.
I have that program that comes with my video card updates that's a pain to remove Raptr
O yeah I have knocked her out of the sky doing a boost jump
I have t bar'd Reginheart doing his boost ram with the boost of D va
It's fun!

What I know is that Reinhardt's charge stuns her for a short while, but she doesn't move.. I died from eating all the Rockets, but my team lived
