I might experiment with that, putting some S+ doors on things we don't have to worry about if the mod were to unceremoniously die.
It would be nice for Behemoth Gates
It would, once the mod is surely stable. Like, I don't mind putting in Glassmetal things because short of it being pulled, nothing else is happening with that mod. S+ is still being worked on, and I'd rather some bug or bout of updating didn't get rid of the only things separating patrolling rexes or allos from the meaty goodness that are my dinos.

Mosasaur taming cage is finished and ready. The pillars above the inside gate are fragile as fuck, as in removing any one of them will cause all the pillars there to fall down. I had a better method for the outside gate but they'll work fine to keep anything contained/outside as long as we don't touch them.
After I finished I had a look-see to see the status of the Mosasaur density behind the cave the cage is in.

I almost want to, like, tame a throw away shark and take a junk tank and just swim into the middle and see how short of a time it takes me to die.

It's a delicate equilibrium as well. They are quite communal so if one agros on you all the ones within a certain radius will come as well. It thankfully doesn't propagate beyond that, but that still means if you get one at the edge of that group you'll have a dozen more right behind it. Then if you run upwards out of their follow range they'll lose agro but then start to passively swim around wherever their new location is, spreading the horde out more.
E: So the cage works, hypothetically. A trapped mosasaur can't get out, and will just swim around attacking the walls while you fire at it. The trouble remains the usual things for all tames. Hitting it while it's moving around, not getting hit because a 150 can two-shot you, and not killing it accidentally before it gets knocked out.
That last one is what just happened with the 150 I was attempting right now, after a little under 400 arrows. I wish that it wasn't such a razor edge line between knocking out a high level dino and killing it. A successful knockout ends up with a lot of things with 98% of their health lost. Miss a bunch of shots and lets its torpor start to fall before you can get it back up again and you're done, now there's not enough health left.
That's why I am thinking of building a cage next to the bubble there. Then you can use a gun with darts from inside the air pocket.
Did you use walls or doorframes? That could make it easier to shoot.
It's a ring of fence foundations, and every three I built up a tower of alternating stone door/window walls to save on materials. Just door frames all the way up don't actually stop movement of anything, so that's why the windows. Big dinos are too wide to get through, but it's easy to swim/fire inside. My problem is that I suck at aiming when it swims off to the opposite wall zigzagging all over the place.
I initially considered doing the cage by the bubble, but that would involve building a ceiling, which would require a full floor to keep it all from collapsing, and that's just too many materials for me to bother with. Course I probably could have made it smaller than I needed to make this one to fill the entire cave entrance, and i'd have finished it before now. Oh well.

I wonder if you could incorporate that bit of ruin/pillars down there into the design to save on materials.
Also Pillars plus stuff might help.
I'm gonna play with it after I get done revamping the outer walls at Kal's

Possibly, but you should definitely take advantage of the thing that lets you build ceilings directly over foundations without needing pillars every other step.
This:
It does require things be snapped together, but like I said it doesn't need to be a fully enclosed box since they can't fit through a two wall-wide gap.
Question about fence foundations. The new ones that are like poles and let you have level walls across the top. Do behemoth/dino gates snap to them like normal fence foundations? Can I snap them to the gates? Basically I want to know if there's going to be some dumb poles in the middle of an open gate.
Also grinders, do you get 100% of the component mats out of junk you throw in there or like 50%?

25%. And capped at 100 of a mat. So , like, grinding a superuber awesome saddle you find in undersea chests will probably only give you back 100 of each component it was made of. It's not specifically an efficient means of getting mats.
But I also run mine every one to two days and get a panoply of materials back, which I then place of my smithy for fixing weapons and armor. This is because, to be fair, when folks go clear the sea or hunt meat around the base, all manner of things drop items of various quality, and the grinder fills up soon with things that are already gathered, and might a well be mats.

I was also able to log in about 10 minutes ago or so.
Edit: However, now that Structures Plus updated, I cannot get in.
In order:
- I'll get the server updated
- No idea about fence supports and gates
- Dinos get wiped when I do it manually. I have been doing it more often this week due to the Mosa-splosion going on in the NE ocean
- Kal already answered the bit about the grinder

Alright. I keep seeing different amounts of mosas every time I check in the morning/afternoon and wasn't sure if that was a daily thing or just part of their general weirdness.
- Reverted wall snap point changes
- Reverted elevator changes(will be stopped by terrain).
- S+ Generator won't snap in mid-air anymore.
Not quite sure what that means.
Server Patch:
Current Version: v245.986
* Fixed cases where you could get stuck in world geometry after being pushed by Dinos. Requires Server Update.
* Fixed another case of Dinos falling thru Floors. Requires Server Update.
We're up to three digits after the decimal. That's new.
Server is coming online now.

I am having troubles logging in this morning. Anyone else?
I was able to log in around noon Central time, then had to leave. I just tried again 1:40 and it is giving me a Mod Version Mismatch popup, asking me if my mods are up to date or the same running on the server.

Oh, dang it, he updated Pillars Plus at the same time. Hang on.

Alright all the mods are updated now. Someone let me know if they can log in. Server is starting now.
