Alright, since people in the chat are already asking, I think its time to start planning this years Pinny Pals Pre Pax Aus Dinner.
When: Thursday Nov 3, Kick off around 7.30-8pm
Where:
To be decided.
Given a lot of people fly in on Thursday and that there is some sort of Child's Play Trivia on Wednesday, Thursday seems to be the best day for the event.
But where?
Last year, we did Gasolina, the location (being on the 'Pax Promenaded') seemed to work well, - Since it's right next to PAX.

Please feel free to suggest some venues for dinner. Ideally ones that will take a large group, without asking us to pre-order.
Hope to see you there!

More suggestions (I've eaten at both):

"Damn fine pins!"
For other suggestions - I used to live in one of the towers above this place, it's a little further down away from the exhibition building, but good: http://loadingdockbar.com.au/
Also, we went here after a work booze cruise and it was good, heaps of room to book for a big group: http://www.theboatbuildersyard.com.au/
Hazzah for birthday dinner @Agent Cooper !
“I let out a battle cry. Sure, a lot of people might have mistaken it for a sudden yelp of unmanly fear, but trust me. It was a battle cry.”
Again, I don't want to choose for the group, but I would appreciate a place that had regular tables so I could talk to you guys more
Flying in Friday mornings is getting a bit killer in my old age :P

I have heard about a board game cafe in the city. I will try to check it out over the weekend and report back!

Does anyone else have any requirements? It's easy to plan for them this far out.
Even if its just allergies, stuff you don't eat/like or maybe you refuse to go to any venue that uses comic sans font on the menu.

He buys them for me ? xD
.... OK Checks out. He's in

Oh and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Stop 1 Alchemists Refuge
It a bar and lots of room for board games. It is so close to being perfect for a meet up.
They have free access to the board game library too!
However while its wheelchair and pram accessible (via lane entrance), the bathroom is upstairs... and only accessible by stairs.
Also, they don't do much in the way of food.
Not to be defeated and also to check out another place we moved on
Stop 2 Bartronica
Again more of a bar, but surrounded retro arcade games!
Again they don't do much in the way of food and its was quite loud.
Going out a drinking is tough work  but I will keep at it so we can find some more potential venues.

Only a mere 136 pins to go!

Usually I would talk up the Munich Brauhaus but they changed their menu recently and in most cases the price has gone up and the quality has gone down, plus they don't really do 'staples' any more so they're not in my list of recommended places any more. For more German beerhaus type places, I'm going to the Hophaus (http://hophaus.com.au/) and The Hof Downtown (http://thehof.com/) over the next few weeks so I can come back and provide reviews of those, haha.

I'll get back to y'all on the other one in a couple of weeks.

I hope this message is appropriately long.
Anyone been to any of the restraunts on this list?
I contacted a few potential venues last week. But they turned out to be no good unfortunately.
But lets get this sorted!
Date: Thursday, 3rd November.
Time: 6.30PM
Location: To be decided.
I'll do some more ringing around this week, but as a backup we could go to Gasolina again, but book the other side of the venue with tables and not the bench/couch side.
