Me and Rank went to a show in the middle of nowhere

There were horses and hay and some drinking

We watched a naked man play a 30 minute drum solo then pull the promoter onstage and hand him the drumsticks and a jar of Vaseline

Then the naked drummer bent over and the drumstick disappeared

Then another band came out and covered the crowd in about 200 gallons of blood

And some of you suckers are payin' two bills to see adele and kanye and shit

    Hi knob.

That sounds like a cool show.

I want to see another show soon. Last one I saw was nekrogoblikon and the sound system at the venue actually kinda sucked.

  • KnobKnob TURN THE BEAT BACK InternetModerator Mod Emeritus
I'm not familiar, but according to rank one of the bands was real similar to nekrogoblicon

  • UrielUriel Registered User regular
It didn't help that they kept telling the sound guy to turn them up. I think they are used to bigger places.

What are the names of the acts if you remember? I will look them up.

    That's a really good flyer

Here is a clip I took from that show last October

    https://youtu.be/-lEAN52Iag4

I stripped out the audio because I had my thumb over my phone's mic. They put on a good show even though it was super cramped in there.

I also got to chat with the band, mostly the vocalist Scorpion. He was a cool guy, very enthusiastic.

Looks like a fun time, sucks the sound was lame

    They did 2 fliers

Looking up a lot of those on youtube that was probably a fuckin' killer show.

Deadpass does sound like it has some stylistic similarities to nekrogoblikon.

  • KnobKnob TURN THE BEAT BACK InternetModerator Mod Emeritus
Deadpass is a mediocre local metal act

I think Plague Hammer was the band in question

    They did sound more generic.

Ah I couldn't find much from them up there. at least not with good audio?

    I'll have to dig deeper.

That punk show that was playing in that bar during PAX South was good

  • UrielUriel Registered User regular
There is a show I might go to that a friend helped put together in August.

I'm sure it'll be a mixed bag as far as acts I like, but I have super eclectic taste.

I hope it's not too crowded either, it's his big end of summer show for his music promotion thing he's trying to get off the ground.

  • KnobKnob TURN THE BEAT BACK InternetModerator Mod Emeritus
Oil City Riot and The Disintegrators are both my bands

The Front is a local punk act, Deadpass is a local metal act

Casket Huffer and Plague Hammer are from the Denver area I think

Nekrofilth was the nastiest, most foul mouthed band I ever heard

The Murder Junkies are GG Allins old band, before he died

Ghoul is basically a thrash metal GWAR. Costumes and gallons of Blood and psychotic shit

I went to see M83 the other day in KC at the Midland. It was a cool and good show. Here is a crap video I took of the song Lower Your Eyelids to Die With the Sun.

I had a chance to see skeletonwitch live but didn't go because I wasn't that into the bands they were touring with. "Surely I'll get another opportunity to see them", I thought.

They booted their lead singer a few months after that and I'm not into the new guy.

Was gonna see anamanaguchi a month ago but got crazy sick the day before.

    I'm bad at shows.

I've missed Red Fang, Mastodon, and Baroness at least once each since I've gotten this car because I'm too scared to drive on the interstate!

I...I think I went to that show? Or at least that tour.

Oh, you meant individually, I think.

They were separate tours I think.

This was all over the last year or so.

None of my favorite big name bands ever come to my city. Just the cities nearby like Detroit, Columbus and Fort Wayne sometimes.

Fucked Up at FFF this past fall just made me want to do nothing but see Fucked Up over and over. I super want to attend Toronto's Long Winter but what with this move coming up it's moved from Highly Probable to Extremely Unlikely.

So Rock the Garden is this weekend. Shortened to one day only due to the renovation of the art center.

The Flaming Lips, Chance the Rapper, and Polica are playing. I want to go. But I don't really want to spend 70 bucks.

    Should I go anyway y/n?

and I wonder about my neighbors even though I don't have them
but they're listening to every word I say

I saw Lacuna Coil last week. It was pretty good show.

Stitched Up Heart, 9 Electric, and Painted Wives opened. Painted Wives was kind of whatever, but the other two I really like.

July is the Electronic Saviors show, which has an awesome lineup.

Also seeing iVardensphere, Violent Femmes, and Psychic TV in July.

September is Cold Waves V and I can't wait.

I still have those CDs knob sent me of his band.

They are pretty good but my optical drive is busted and I never got round to ripping them.

Seeing people play live always makes me want to practice my guitar more often, stupid fat fingers.
