The 6th "Annual" (Whenever Someone Remembers to Do Them) Phallies

Ah, the village of Phalla. It is said that this is where it all began, and those who are wise often say that inevitably it will all come to an end here too.
Phallateers of all shapes and sizes gather here between their interdimensional shenanigans happen.
In the corner of the Phalla bar, one squid-like being is desperately trying to hold the attention of a new Phallateer.
“No wait, don’t leave! I promise you I’m highly respected around here! They even gave me an award at the last Phallies!”
The new Phallateer peers closely at the tiny statue. “Most Hilarious Blunder/Meltdown? Dude, that’s the lamest award ever.”
As the newbie leaves the bar, the squid-thing shakes with rage, given a wide berth by the rest of the bar patrons.
“We need to call a new award ceremony NOW. I WILL GET THE RESPECT I SO DESERVE, OR I’LL TAKE THIS WHOLE TOWN DOWN WITH ME!”
“Alright, I think you’ve had enough.” says Alegis the bartender, shooting the noisy patron a dirty glance.
“Fabulous” smirks the patron, leaving to fill out the necessary paperwork.


Rules
1. The awards will last for 11 days
2. Each day two main awards will be up for nomination
3. A person/game/event/whatever must receive a nomination and a second to be eligible for voting
4. After a period of 24 hours, the nomination period is over, and the main awards must be voted on, additionally, two new main awards will be up for nomination
5. That means that most days, there will be two main awards up for nomination and two main awards being actually voted on.
6. There may be BONUS AWARDS! These awards do not require nominees. They will be voted on the same day they are introduced.
7. Vote close is 12:00 am EST
8. Inactivus is taking a break this week. Vote for as many or as few awards as you like.
9. This is about roasting and toasting, not flaming and shaming. Speak your mind, but don't be the rain on our glorious parade.
10. We’re always looking for guest Narrators. If you’re interested, give me a shout.
11. Please do not discuss currently running games.
12. Nominations/Votes should be made in the propercolors

This Awards show covers all the games between now and the last Awards, which includes Birthdaygate in ObiFett's first Pokemon Phalla.

Birthdaygate was a host blunder, no fault at all on the players. How i handled that is probably my biggest hosting regret.

You know how you signup for proboards when you are mafia? Your proboard account carries over on your email certain details if you use the same email instead of registering each proboard separately. In this particular game everyone was to be on an anonymous proboard. So we setup account names different from our forum names. Well, because people decided to win that Phalla and not the next ones down, they would use the mechanics as they stood to become unkillable network heads. That plus birthday gate definitely altered the makeup of the 1st PokePhalla.

As I recall, the idea behind being able to connect people's handles was supposed to be something you had to buy into with Pokemon powers and was supposed have some amount of obfuscation, detective work and a bit of luck to get.

So the game had two mafias: the sabbat and the anarchs, with the sabbat being a cult and anarchs being more traditional mafia. I was an anarch, and I was being more inactive and silent than usual in the main thread. The village (the camarilla) called me out for it. Rather than do anything about it or try to explain myself, I continued to remain inactive and silent. And the village didn't kill me. It was brought up repeatedly for several days, yet the game ended with an anarch victory and me still alive.

I just looked at that thread and holy shit the other anarch survivor was @obifett , after MrT caught him doing something suspicious on day 1.

Also I think I claimed to rez someone, @kime i think, when I didn't and the person who did rez them died that night.

I was so proud to busdrive Spectre's attack onto Preda off of you that game, Obi. I really thought I was helping!

I still have no idea why I died when I did, but it was lucky as hell for you, because I was on to you and Kay at that point.

ONE MORE DAY and Shalmelo and I would've had that under wraps.

I kinda blew up with the #birthdaygate shit, and even to this day it burns me up. Mostly because I am naturally protective of my identity online (like I don't use my real name online except Facebook because that's family and friends and any place I have to use my debt card), and the idea of having to do that in a phalla was really exciting to me, only to find out that it was useless because of some meta cheat that I only got wind of a day or two before it officially broke.

I wasn't involved with the birthdaygate thing, the worst metagaming I remember was an early phalla where a seer or vigilante came forward, verified and asked for specials to check in. The forum at that time had a function to see what all users where doing, such as writing a pm. So the mafia after the call, watched that function and over the next few nights, promptly killed most of the specials and handily won the game because only the specials were in the pm function at that time.

I think the general rule of thumb was, play the game to have fun. If you have to metagame or cheat to win the game, you are ruining it for everyone else. Don't be that person.

Hey y'all.
I'm aware that activity in games continues to drop, but I wasn't expecting award categories to fail to get nominated for completely.

The first day is supposed to close in 2 hours. I'm going to extend it an additional day, and have people decide which solution is best:

a) cancel the awards: the awards are meaningless anyway, and if there's no support for them, let them die off naturally
b) lengthen the awards: as time commitments become harder to make, award nominations should last 48 hours to ensure everyone has the chance to nominate
c) change nomination criteria: as fewer people play, needing a nominator and a seconder becomes too much of a challenge. In the future only a nominator will be required.

Just want to chime in my part, I love the idea of these awards and feel like they are dragging out all the right old stories too.

Having only played 8 of the games listed above, I certainly don't feel like I could nominate or probably vote for much. There is way too much I haven't been in!
