I don't even really care about Frank Ocean (I came to this thread to figure out what the hell it was about and stayed to crack jokes) but I fucking hate platform exclusivity in music.

It's two weeks and you can still buy it in iTunes probably
Hey remember when Frank Ocean was nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy and instead they gave it to fucking Fun?
*collapses to the floor, twitching violently*
Seriously though, have a read of the wikipedia lists of past Grammy winners in stuff like the album of the year category. Two-thirds of the time you'll go "Who?" and then look at the nominees and go "and they beat THOSE GUYS?"
"If I can't listen to an album in the format I want within 2 weeks of it's initial release I probably won't bother" is a really weird stance to me.
it's not like a purposeful thing! it's more just that the hype may have died after those 2 weeks and will go off my radar as other things come up/happen
i'll listen to it when I can, but i just know that two weeks is a long time. fuck, that new khaled album isn't out even a week and i already keep forgetting that I wanna listen to that whole thing
i just don't get why people would be fine with exclusivity when people aren't lack for new content/music/etc.
gotta assume they gettin paid hella texa$ for the rights

"buy it in iTunes" is platform exclusive.
Fuck iTunes.
Maybe you know his cousin? Thomas Sea
probably won't end up listening to it then
the hype will pass after two weeks and i'll not be interested anymore
whatever. that's the thing that happens with exclusivity deals
Dude the Morris Sea joke was right there and you fuckin blew it.
Is that who parks the Morris Marina?
Doesn't iTunes let you just download mp3s and do whatever with them afterwards?
Perhaps the first post of the thread has some information about Frank ocean. Or Google. But good post otherwise
Yes, and it's been that way for years now
And if it's truly exclusive to the streaming service for a limited window, meh, who cares, if it's good it changes nothing
The Life of Pablo and Lemonade were both still awesome a few weeks later
except I don't want to use iTunes
He could release it as a phonograph roll in a single Topeka KMart and I'd still be maximum jazzed

The Grammys are the joke that the other jokes dunk on
