Umberto Gonzales is really the only one to watch out for. He's probably responsible for 90% of the horseshit lies peddled at Latino Review back in the day.
Shit, I thought the Joker bullet had been dodged. Deathstroke doesn't fucking make sense for a Justice League villain! Wonder Woman will just punch him in half
WB/DC is trying to play catch up with Marvel in the PR department. The Marvel actors are very into their roles. They're very friendly with the fans. The post messages and pictures from the projects they're working on (or at least Marvel posts it in their name). They do a lot of panels. They dress up as the characters for conventions and to visit kids in schools and hospitals. They just do a lot of fun stuff for the fans.
So far, WB/DC isn't like that. Their actors keep their distance. They very rarely do any of the stuff the Marvel actors do with their fans. Remember the comic con panel where they announced BvS? They had Cavill, Affleck, and Gadot come on stage and all they did was wave and get their pictures taken before leaving. None of the DC actors have dressed up as their characters to do anything with the fans or visit kids in hospitals, although you probably don't want Murderman to visit sick kids.
This Deathstroke reveal is WB/DC's attempt to do something fun for the fans. They're trying to show that Affleck is "down with the cool kids" and "know where it is at" by "leaking" this video.
i also think you're really overthinking this whole thing. Marvel has had 8 years and 12 movies worth of actors to get to where they are today
DC has had only had 3 in their current universe (since you seem to be discounting Christian Bale who has visited hospitals with Batman gifts) and 2 of those movies are less than a year old. and that's not even counting the fan events that they HAVE run like the nationwide one allowing fans to see BvS a week early or Zack Snyder showing up in the batmobile to hang out with people waiting in line in the middle of the night at SDCC last year. like, yeah, Marvel's "fan outreach" stuff seems more competent right now, but that's mainly because they've been doing it for a lot longer right now
Affleck also did a thing with the Batmobile I think, where he surprised people.

You know, if it was done well. I think the Red Hood would make a pretty awesome Bat-movie villain.
Reading what I wrote, I just realised it's kinda superfluous to write if done well, because a baguette would be an excellent villain if it was done well, because it was done well.

Red Hood would almost necessitate Joker in some capacity though.

Not really.
Jason Todd is already dead by the joker's hand in this. I think you could easily ignore the rest of the joker related scenes pretty easily.
in a Red Hood story? not really. Joker is pretty important to his entire endgame with Batman and ignoring that gets rid of pretty much the entire pathos and reason for him doing what he does
Joker could probably be mitigated in a film adaptation of that story, but ignored entirely? definitely not

I saw Suicide Squad last week but am just now getting around to posting about it. I felt pretty much the way I expected to, which is that I mostly enjoyed it despite not actually thinking it was a good movie.
I thought Waller, Deadshot, and Harley were all decent but not without qualification. Waller was dumb, Deadshot was fine but it was very much a Standard Will Smith Performance, and Harley honestly seemed kind of forced a lot of the time (from a writing and performance perspective, to say nothing of the ridiculousness of her being picked for the team in the first place).
I did not enjoy anything about the Joker. There just wasn't much of a point to him and I did not like this particular take on the character.
The pacing and editing are just a mess, like whoa. Really the entire structure of the film is weird, with how
the main threat of the movie is one of their own (potential) teammates immediately going rogue and becoming the big bad. Usually they would at least throw some other threat at them, even if generic and ultimately unimportant, and then have stuff go off the rails. It just feels odd, structurally, that it happens right off the bat without anything else actually happening.
Also the whole friends/family thing was bizarre and unearned. It would have been fine for them to all come together as a team, but the actual dialogue about that was just totally out of place.
I will say that I was somewhat surprised more of the team wasn't killed. I was kind of expecting guys like Boomerang (who was entertaining enough) and Croc to be essentially redshirts.
Speaking of, it was hilarious to me that the movie spent so much time on doing flashback origins for most of the team and then was just like "Oh and here's Slipknot."

WB/DC doesn't have to start completely from scratch and come up with all these ideas on their own. They can just look at what Marvel has done with their fans.
And Marvel did pretty well from the very beginning with Iron Man. They had a really good showing at the 2007 comic con. Favreau, Downey, Paltrow, and Howard were all there on the panel and did a lot of stuff with the fans.
WB didn't do too badly with the 2012 Man of Steel panel but they only got Snyder and Cavill.

I feel like I want to write more but for the moment I'll say that while it wasn't a good movie, it was, like, 6 movies, and I was giggling by the end of it so i can't be too harsh on the thing. i think I actually liked it, if I'm coming down on one side of that
more than anything it felt like a big budget version of arrow
just watched this in a peasant theater so that I could talk during with my bud. it was bad, and worse for making me remember that eminem exists.
katana was useless, the entire joker subplot was pointless, captain boomerang got the short shrift and viola davis' eyes are too sad to play hard ass Wall.
robbie's accent was all over the place and this version of harley is just plain bad. I dunno if that's the new thing they got going on over at DC for her but goddamn does it just not work.
for real though, what a waste of a dickhead australian

cara delevingne?
edit: or Margot Robbie I guess is the other option as she was certainly PERFORMING, my dear boy, but I thought she did a good job with whatever writing and a character archetype I'm predisposed to frown at. I didn't hate her the way I hated, say.... deadpool
The very same. Honestly she might not be as bad as If Condoleeza Rice Was A Raptor

that dancing, though. she felt that spell in her bones
I haven't seen the (unexpectedly alluring) comparison point, but I'll cut cara a lil slack for having like 4 lines in english and really committing to that insane green screen pantomime

This is very uncharitable to mortal kombat lore
not your fault, like i said a lot of sites are saying it's "confirmed" due to his report
it's mostly just frustrating
I actually enjoyed MKX and am looking forward to the next one
Which is not something I can say for any of the DC movies lately
I would bet money that there will be a nod to that aggressively stupid Slade vs. JLA fight, and he will chump the entire League in the first act
Hawkman's ready. Just not ready for a sword cut from a guy who always has a fucking sword.

Which has little to do with WB's PR. He's not the one who decides what he can or cannot share with the fans.
