This is my favourite Godzilla movie just because of the incredibly inherent 60's ness of the aliens.

I vote Megaguirus 'cause I haven't seen it in ages.

I vote Megaguirus as well. It feels a lot like a Showa movie and has Godzilla busting out a handful of new moves.

I've been watching Thunderbolt Fantasy, which is all Taiwanese puppetry
done in the style and practical effects of the Korean Live Action Fantasy Dramas.
Just a whole bunch of sword fights, beautiful costumes, and sand getting splashed around.
If you're looking for a good puppet show, I recommend it.

Not sure what that has to do with Godzilla, but I think I heard Gen Urobochi was involved with that, right? I've never been interested in puppets, but I may give it a chance.

Concerning Megaguirus, is it fair to assume she was mutated by the Godzilla blood fed to her? Her head especially isn't dragonfly-like at all, despite concept art depicting her with a normal looking dragonfly head. If so, interesting they'd do a second monster absorbing and integrating Godzilla's DNA right after Orga.

Sorta occupies the same headspace for me.
I spent a lot of time with Kaiju action figures doing silly storylines as a kid.

I don't think Amazon streaming services are available in Canada :(

There was a cheap Gamera DVD set released not too long ago that had every Showa and Heisei movie.

I got the Gamera Trilogy on blu-ray from Target for like $10
I love how his fireball looks in the trilogy.

Yeah I was hoping I could get away with not buying anything but I mean, I guess if I want to watch them that bad...

I should get a bluray player too maybe

You definitely should! If you want a console to play on, the PS4 (or PS3!) makes a fine Blu-Ray player.

If you just want a stand-alone player, you can get a decent one for under $100 these days.

Speaking of PS4, next time that Godzilla game goes below $15 on Amazon I think I'm gonna pick it up. The reviews were bad, but I played it for a bit at Comic Con and I liked it well enough for what it was.

I was pretty relieved that game didn't review well; one less reason to buy a PS4.

I loved Robot Alchemic Drive on the PS2, and what I played of Godzilla gave me the same vibes as that, so I'm probably super biased.

Shit does anyone remember RAD? God damn I sunk weeks into that thing.

That game looked OK when the Best Friends played it! I mean sort of slow, but still all right

    dN0T6ur.png
  • JayKaosJayKaos Registered User regular
It seemed like they were trying to capture the sort of slow dramatic stomping the monsters usually do in the movies, and ended up just making it boring and hard to control.

Ghidorah for a classic, Destroyah for a brawl, Space Godzilla has the most destructive power and loss of Kaiju, MechaGodzilla 2 for most Godzilla for your buck...

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Yeah, the Godzilla game for PS4 is kinda bad. Not terrible, but pretty much only worth it for all the playable characters.

I think overall Godzilla: Save the Earth was the best Godzilla game. Unleashed suffered from terrible Wiimote controls.

Godzilla: Domination for the GBA was pretty fun, too.

it never occurred to me back when i played it with just my younger brother but Destroy All Monsters Melee was probably incredibly unbalanced when you had a monster that could dig underground, a few that could fly, Gigan could teleport, etc etc

    still a great game though
