I really got to sink my teeth into Mankind Divided tonight and it was a lot of fun.
I keep picking it up for a half hour or so but conversations seem to go on foreeeeeeeeever.
They do! I love it. I love games with a lot of people talking.
The whole Deus Ex thing, for me, is providing environments that immerse by being crammed wall to wall with story - hidden nooks to explore, stuff to read, people to talk to (or eavesdrop on), computers to hack, etc - and that you have to take in kind of slowly, as you carefully examine the details of the environment either to find loot/gear or to plan your attack.
You gotta be in the frame of mind to want to take things more slowly than a regular game. If you're not, I think it would be frustrating or at the very least listless

i own all the previous deus ex games and have never played them
do i need to start from the beginning or is the first game old enough that it's unplayable now because i've been spoiled by more recent shiny things?

I usually do too but for whatever reason they've been really dry for me. I eventually turned subtitles on so I could just skim the text and skip past all the fluff.
Hopefully once I'm a bit further past Prague's starting area it'll pick up for me.

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
i always just skip to the actual reviews for half in the bag though
Yeah, the skits aren't their strong suit. They're a lot funnier when they're just natural and joking around.
THEY SHALL SWALLOW THE SKY AND MOUNT THE WORLD
One Piece is not the sun. The sun provides life and warmth.
I missed like a loser
Think of it like a car.

Really looking forward to playing it when I'm able. Loved HR. Tried to replay it a few times but I hate the shooty intro bits.
It was heartbreaking to miss an 18 million shot.

i think that game is designed by someone who looked inside my head to determine the game i would least ever like to play

More to the point, how many people are eating crappy dishes based on undercooked onions

You could have asked.
