Moving sim card to new phone (verizon)
I have a galaxy that's taken a couple hard falls and has a busted up screen. The new huawei came out, so I'm thinking that rather than pay the $200 to repair this phone, I'll buy the new one for $400. (And hopefully hock this one.)
Are there any extra steps to switching service than just popping the sim card out and putting it in the new phone?
What is this I don't even.

I'm pretty sure that at AT&T I also had to register the phone with them and get a new sim printed because there are a few different types. (micro/mini/etc) It took maybe 10 minutes at an AT&T store.
If the new phone takes a different sized SIM than the old one you can either have it cut (using a SIM card cutter, a tool that looks similar to a stapler) or put it into an adapter (a small piece of plastic).
Any cellphone shop worth its salt should have both of these.
The Huawei Honor is a GSM device, you need a CDMA device as Verizon is a CDMA carrier. Think of the difference between GSM and CDMA as like the difference between diesel and gasoline - on the surface they look similar, but the majority of phones are one or the other (a GSM phone won't work with a CDMA carrier, and the opposite).
There is an Android thread in Moe's that might be a good place to stop by if you're looking for Verizon compatible phones to replace your Galaxy with. On a side note, assuming you're going to be buying your new phone outright, check out MVNOs like Selectel. They're almost always cheaper and there is usually zero reason to stick with a mainline carrier like Verizon proper if you aren't subsidizing the cost of a phone with a contract.
