7.1 sound Xbox one

I've got a 7.1 amp. Sony str-dh520 with it you can choose different speaker set ups.

I have high front left and right
Left and right
Centre
Back left and right
Sub

I have the amp set to this set up and the Xbox set to 7.1 uncompressed.

However when the Xbox plays it forces the the amp into having the high front left and right into being back surround left and right.

The amp knows they are in the wrong place so has them muted

Does anyone know if the Xbox only has one speaker pattern? Or how to make this all work.

Anoying to have 7.1 system but only use 5.1 speakers

    I believe if you have it set up uncompressed you're only going to get the amount of dedicated tracks that the source allows, and even now there isn't much recorded in dedicated 7.1. If you want a signal out of them, you're probably going to have to run a process through your AVR like PLIIz or DSX.
