Jobs! We have them. We probably hate some aspects of them.

Come gripe! Come brag! Come seek resume help or advice!

Get interviews, get lemurs
Get job, get pandas

So this morning I got a super emergency email from someone about needing AV stuff set up (my new job has me being the AV point of contact and I do helpdesk stuff when AV is slow). Must be in place for 9 AM meeting! Message was sent to us at 9:15.

I get there, everyone looks pissed at me for some reason. The room is way smaller than the minimum size we recommend for a projector due to throw distance to get a decently sized image. I set it up anyway. With where the presenter is sitting, I need to run cables between people. People who don't move out of the way so I can run the cables even when asked to please scoot back like a foot for a few seconds.

So what could have been done in... 3 minutes? Took like 15.

Fuck those people. Right in the nose.

So I am a military veteran with a host of health problems at the age of 26. I have to go by the VA hospital downtown this morning. Lot of traffic, causes me to be 15 minutes late, for the first time in my 2 years at this company.

I work for one of the largest Oil&Gas companies in the world as a Contract Specialist, so very tough environment at times. I get called into supervisor office an hour later and get the lecture that "I can't be late and it creates a negative perception, in these market conditions everyone needs to be pushing to work more then their 40 hours." ...I worked 12 hours yesterday and a total of about 55 last week...FML
