Is my router DS-incompatible?

I have an Actiontec MI424WR, and it's been a bitch trying to connect my DS to the wifi. I get a 52000 error when testing my connection, and the error says it's something with my DHCP settings. I've scoured google, and haven't found anything specifically relating to my router. I've tried various tips from all over online, none seemed to work.

Things I have tried:
Changing the channel (Auto, Channel 1, Channel 11)
Changing the transmission rate (From 54 to 2)
Completely disabling the WEP (just to see if that was the problem
Manually entering in IP/Gateway/DNS

My MAC Authentication is also off.

It'd be amazing if someone had the same router and found a way around this, but I'm not expecting that. However, anyone have any tips, or settings that when tweaked magically cause the connection to work? I know I can just get the wifi usb adapter, but I'd really like to believe that no wirless router should be incompatible, and I don't really want to drop 40 bucks when I could figure it out for free. Thanks!

Did you try a firmware update?
This helped me, although I don't have the same router as you.

Dumb things to check: that the DHCP service in the router is turned on, that it is providing the address of a DNS server, that you are close to the access point so you know it's not the NDS's weak range that's the issue.

Next up: make sure there is no outbound filtering policy in the router settings that might be messing things up. Check the router logs for "outbound traffic blocked" messages.

I found this page at Nintendo on ActionTec access points. It's not your exact model, but they do specifically recommend updating the firmware.

Updating the firmware somehow slipped my mind, definitely something I should've tried, and I'll check it when I get out of work.
