I've been watching the Scary Game Squad LP and they're a bit further in (about two hours) and RE7 looks pretty good, even if it super duper cribs a whole ton from Outlast. Like, man it feels so Outlast-y. (At least from what I've seen.)

Mat raises a good point, if this game is in canon with all the other games, and presumably happens after them... why would monsters freak this guy out? Why wouldn't people wonder "oh people are disappearing I wonder if those evil dudes who always kidnap people are kidnapping a bunch of people?"
Again, I know almost nothing about the plot of the game so maybe it gets addressed at some point.
Liam did a full LP of RE7 on stream last night, by accident. He meant to only stream it for like 3 hours, then just kept playing and got like 2/3 of the way through before deciding fuck it I'll just play the whole thing. Stream crashed a bunch but he finally finished it at like 2 AM EST. It's awesome, can't wait for Pat to not understand puzzles.

the facial animation on the opening cutscene lady is very uncanny valley
HOW HAVE WE NOT FIGURED OUT FACIAL ANIMATIONS AT ALL IN THE PAST 20 YEARS?

Pushing so hard for versimilitude in character models usually means that facial animation looks really fucked whereas if you choose to stylise character models you can get away with it.
