The year is 1968, and Vietnam vet Lincoln Clay has returned to New Bordeuax (read: New Orleans) to finally be inducted into the mafia in which he was raised
Shortly after that, the black mafia is wiped out by the Italians, and Lincoln is left for dead
It didn't take, and now he's out for revenge, assembling a new mob of everybody wronged by the Italians, hell-bent on wiping them out for good

But also it's an open-world game so you'll probably be able to go bowling or something
Make no mistake, though, Mafia 3 is going for some real shit
How successful it'll be, nobody can say for sure (especially not reviewers cause they aren't getting copies)
But they sure are trying, at least
Mafia 3 is out this Friday, October 7th, on PC, Xbox One, and PS4
Mafia doesn't look like a word anymore

Doom didn't get review copies and that's arguably the best game of the year
I was already interested, so I hope the first impressions will be good.
This is out tomorrow, y'all
also the PC version might be locked at 30 fps max
I'm starting to wonder if companies are now employing social media people to hate their product while pretending to be the worst parts of society (racists, homophobes, nationalists, bigots) so people buy the product to spite a deplorable societal idea.
In fact, I'd almost prefer that to the knowledge that so many people out there ACTUALLY BELIEVE in such ridiculous horrible bullshit and spew it openly and nobody they know is telling them "cut that shit out, you ass".

Giant Bomb is streaming the game right now, from the start, on PS4
I've only played Mafia 2 and it bored the hell out of me, so
Not great?
Steam
It's a new studio and everything
It reminds me a lot of Uncharted 2
If I had any Photoshop ability you better believe I would have made a Speedway Squad logo for Mafia 3
(In Color)
You wanna talk about traveling back in time, I restarted a GameFly subscription in order to keep up on the fall games (they sent me an email giving me a month for $1 and I am going to cancel it right away)
does not compute
but I quite like this so far
combat's got a loose, messy feel to it, which I kinda like.
some of the control scheme stuff for kbam is downright baffling, tho
"delete" to whistle? go into the options menu to switch between lethal and non-lethal takedowns? the fact that you can't bring up tooltips and tutorials again? (alright, I'm not so sure about that last one, but haven't found it yet)
Steam // Secret Satan
Very interested in if it holds up the whole way through!

As much as I love Burnout Paradise - and good lord I do - I hated how when I played with certain larger aggression type cars it would muffle the music and make it more bass heavy, and I desperately wanted an option to just be like "yo knock that shit off"
So it sounds like they erred in my favor here, at least
I didn't know I could be more interested
Picking up my PS4 copy from one tomorrow morning, I would totally just buy it sight unseen but I need to be a bit more frugal with my purchases this year

So Mafia III is downloading now so I can enjoy some fast paced 30fps gameplay.
It's a really unique way to handle exposition, they can jump around in time and skip scenes that can be summed up in a sentence
Steam
It worked out well for No Man's Sky
Steam
shit
And the head writer, who is black
conceded
I am deeply curious about this one, but spending $60 just to satisfy curiosity doesn't seem like the BEST use of money
The gameplay is fine, but it's not exemplary
You shoot guys, you drive cars, it kinda has some Far Cry stealth going on, it looks like some territory control and gang management stuff is being slowly unfolded
Play this game if you want to see a game that does a very good job of telling a new spin on a tired tale, the mafia revenge story, at least at the outset
I am renting it and so far I'm happy with that decision
Yeah, I'm real interested in this, but after the last Mafia game, I'm waiting to hear a bit more about this one before dropping $60 on it. Like it was ostensibly an open-world game, but there really wasn't any point to it, and you were just railroaded into doing the mission exactly how the developers wanted you to. The story looks good from what I saw on the Giant Bomb stream, and I like how they were able to take their time to establish everything, but I'm most interested in seeing what the game play is like right after they stopped since that seems like the point where the world really opens up.
There are operations to take down to damage the income of your enemies while bolstering your own and those are pretty much like the outposts in Far Cry games
And that's pretty much the majority of the game
I'm hearing it's a lot like that Godfather 2 game but I never played that
It's installing now, hope it finishes tonight so I can play tomorrow after work
Game itself is fine; might be one of those that would have been better served grabbing on the console since both have the same FPS at least.
Also Clay sounds like John Cena. How did no one mention this yet.
