When I last left the city several years ago, they were just getting started and I'm so pleased that they've done well for themselves.
Today I've got some Port City Pale Ale brewed in Alexandria, dry hopped and quite good - DC got itself a bonafide little beer scene now.

I have a person on one shoulder telling me 11.5% is perfectly fine for a growler fill and a person on the other telling me it's Notorious Triple IPA and only the weak fill with something else and wait where's the dissenting opinion please send help.

Tonight was the return of Dock Street's "Rare Beer for School Supplies Night!" Donation was a couple of gently used children's or YA fiction books for a half pint of their Russian imperial stout that had been bourbon barrel aged. Was awesome, would have been even better if it wasn't for some reason 70 degrees out tonight!

Hmm. The actual Solemn Oath brewery is about a block from where my kids do swimming lessons, and 2 blocks from indoor soccer. I haven't stopped by there yet, really should find some time to do so.

Oh, nice. They're open Sunday, and my wife and kids will be up at her parents' place. Excellent.

After a brewery 30th anniversary event i stopped at a party store and got some good stuff.

I really like most of the Destihl Wild Sour series, and those are both good ones. They can vary a bit from batch to batch, but tend to be surprisingly sour in a way that I enjoy.

I think i'm gonna track this stuff down today, it sounds interesting. I was headed to the liquor store anyway because I'm out of rum.

I'm usually not a big beer guy though, and the beers I actually do like are super expensive.

Surly getting bought up would be extremely disappointing. Todd Haug did just resign and move over to three floyds last week though, might be what fueled the speculation. Hopefully it doesn't happen though

I'm trying to think of a way to do a round robin thing. Like one person starts, the next person takes a one and leaves one, the next person takes one and leaves one, the next person takes one and leaves one....

Like a way to just keep passing it around so multiple people get all the states.

Chili beers, especially chili chocolate stouts can be so good!

I had a 9% chili tripel once and it as delicious but I'm also pretty sure it gave me night terrors.

Yo late but DEFINITELY BUY AND EAT THAT ICE CREAM if you can. Jeni's is the most 100% on the mark ice cream I've bought from a store, and her cookbook is my ice cream recipe bible.
