also this being Blizzcon weekend the world cup will be finishing up, US had a strong opening in the prelims, looks like Russia and Sweden are the teams to beat
At the risk of making things more confusing, the latest details I have heard on Sombra are that her EMP will go through Reinhardt's shield, but does not affect health in the form of either shields or Lucio barriers.

her preview video specifically shows her using it to counter a lucio ult though

It most likely destroys hp shields, too Meaning it practically deals 150 damage to Zenyatta, 200 damage to Zarya, 100 damage to symmetra, and 25 damage to everyone applying a symmetry shield, as those shields don't regenerate in combat- All on top of removing barriers and preventing abilities

Good to see the "new generation" Overwatch characters will be involved in the larger plot on occasion, kinda figured that would keep just being reaper, 76, and their assorted entourages.

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
Is Overwatch a game that can be played well with a relatively budget PC build? I have an FX-8350, GTX 1050Ti, 16GB RAM build and thought I might give it a try.

It runs playably well on my surface book which is pretty shit as far as gaming specs go, so probably (though I'm not up to date with graphics cards enough to evaluate your system specifically).

what about that is a budget build

You'll definitely be fine with that setup. Blizzard is pretty good about making their games accessible to old rigs.
EDIT: Though I just noticed your GPU and now I'm confused as to why you call that a budget build.

Wow used to run on a ham on rye
I constantly make the joke I play it on a tandy 2600
Also the 8350 is like 4 years old at this point, and while the 1050 Ti is new, it's the second cheapest card in Nvidia's current line-up (after the regular 1050).
Glad to know I shouldn't have any trouble though, thanks y'all.

Yeah, I found some benchmarks for systems running the 1050Ti and playing Overwatch (albeit with better CPUs) and a they're all hitting around 100-105fps.

I didn't see anything there which suggests it kills shields
e: looks like the designer guy says it does later on
I do like how Sombra's addition is also a way to balance the game rather than just buffing or nerfing heroes.
Like, Winston being a low pick and Zarya as a must pick in any given comp? Well sure you can change their kits or buff/nerf them, or you can introduce a hero with new mechanics that make Winston a much more appealing pick.
And people can rightfully be a bit worried about her being OP, but she's still at most 1/6th of a team. The limited team size in this game makes perfect sense to me when you consider that.
Plus, she is no more invisible than some of the other heroes. Some teleport or fly or climb buildings; functionally it's not very different from turning invisible and walking around. The only advantage she has over the others is being able to be nearby and see where the enemy is while you're doing that.
Can anyone confirm if she contests objectives while invisible?

I think so, in the video above there's a part where the point is contested while she's invisible, pretty sure she was the only person from her team on it right then
e: yeah I watched it again, she definitely contests while invisible

Personally I think lower team sizes can introduce additional concerns with overtuned characters because of how they'll be competing for limited spots. If one character is the best in a given class, like we see right now with Reinhardt and Lucio, then one of the main features of the game becomes less interesting.
While we won't know for sure until she's properly playable, given just how much utility she provides I'm worried team comps post-Sombra will be locked to Rein/Lucio/Sombra as the baseline.

They are pretty consistently designed to run on trash cobbled together from frequent sojourns into the irradiated wastes that exist beyond The Wall.
It looks like minecraft, but by god, it does not so much as stutter when 12 ults are used.
For reference the 970 hits like 135 or so.

I doubt it'll work on Mei while she's ice-blocked but boy am I looking forward to not even letting her hit it in the first place.
